We are planning a trip in May, staying at the Poly. I have ADR at Le Cellier, Narcoossee's, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Kona, 50's Prime Time and 'Ohanna. I also have booked Akershus PSB and 'Ohanna character breakfast and tentatively Chef Mickey breakfast(will cancel one of these). I have 2 little ones 4 and 7, wanted to have some "fun" dining experiences. Is Narcoossee's good? I cannot seem to find many reviews of this restaurant. We considerd Citricos or California Grill, I had a hard time deciding. I had a friend tell me that Whispering Canyon Cafe was "cafeteria like" and not very good. Does anyone agree? Is there suggestions for something different? So many choices - we just want to eat good food and have some fun meals for the kids. I would appreciate your opinions, I have not been to Disneyworld in almost 25 years and am having a really hard time deciding. Thanks!

We ate at Whispering Canyon a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Our children (3 and 5) had a great time with all the kids activities. We thought the food was good.
We also ate at Ohana's. It was good also (not great, but still good). My 5 yo DD LOVED the kids activities....lots of fun.....and a great view..
We also ate at LeCellier...GREAT food, and kid friendly.
We had dinner at PSB and did not like the food.....the selection was fine, but the quality was bad.....soggy, cold pasta and overcooked salmon.

It is funny that you mention whispering canyon as being like a cafeteria......I think that many, many WDW restaurants have a "cafereria feeling" to them. IT doesn't mean that I don't enjoy them. I guess that is just what happens when you try to feed as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.

Thank you for the advice, I am relying on this website heavily for recommendations!

Hi. You will love the Poly. I have a DD7 and we have eaten at Le Cellier, Kona Cafe, Whispering Canyon Cafe (fun place not a cafeteria) Ohanna all of these had good food and would be great choices. THE 50'S Prime Time Cafe we will be trying this year. Citricos is also good but is more low key. We went for dinner and it was mostly adults.

We have also eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern at MK Character dinner. It is good and is family style. They bring all the food to you. Which is sometimes easier with little ones.

Hope this helps!

We ate at WCC one trip. I thought it was ok. I have never tried Narcoossee's. I thought the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe was very nice. Good food, not totally hectic and great character interaction :)

Narcossis is very good and a great place to watch wishes from. It is kid friendly, but not kid themed. It is more of an adult restaurant that also serves kids. The food was very good, the service was excellent and in general I had a great time there with my wife last October. There is a balcony around the outside of the restaurant to watch the fireworks from and they pipe the music in.

You might want to try the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the Poly. The kids will love it. The foods not great but the show is worth it. 5o's prime time is a fun place and will keep the kids busy. Le Cellier is very good and if you time it right you can watch Illuminations after dinner (there is no special viewing area like Rose and Crown has but the view from outside the restaurant is good).

Enjoy and have a good time.

I am a huge fan of Citrico's and feel it is without a doubt one of the best meals on property..I have written some reviews of Citrico's for the RB, you can do a search and read other opinions as well as my own.

I had lunch at Kona Cafe and enjoyed it immensely. I have not done O'Hana for a few years and have read conflicting reviews. I think when they change the menus, people have difficulty adapting to the new menu. I am one of those people and did not like the changes in the menu at LeCellier from the last time I went. I ordered the chicken and specifically asked if it was spicey.....the CM said no...and believe me it was. We have not gone back.

I tend to stay with the restaurants that I truly love especially if in the past I have not had a pleasant experience with others. I love Teppanyaki, always fun with children....depending on your chef, they can be quite entertaining.. Also, one of my fave meals this last time was dinner in Italy.....I will be writing a review on that soon. Food was good, but entertainment in the evening was a blast...

My advice, for the sake of your kids wanting to have fun, don't cancel Chef Mickey's! It is a great time, lots of fun, and the kids at that age will love it. I'd let one of the other restaurants go in it's place...
just my two cents...

all of them are good. just a suggestion, with all of your adr's you are very limited in where you will be at certain times. my best advice is cancel half of them and eat when you are hungry, because there is nothing worse than being in line for a ride and constantly looking at your watch so you make your adr. lots of undue stress.
