Hi,
I will be celebrating my 50th birthday at WDW in just a few weeks. I wanted to come up with something really special. I don't want to lug a scrapbook around the parks to have it signed directly, so I am thinking of taking a bunch of precut cards in a protective mailer. I would like to get the characters to sign them at character meals and I would also like to follow the Kidcot "path" around EPCOT and have the CMs write Happy Birthday or the equivalent in the languages of the different countries. (I am a kindergarten teacher and would really love to have these to show my class.) I plan on taking pictures of the cm's and characters and possibly taking a small clipboard and of course many large colored pens for the signers to use.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks In Advance!

Do you have a Cricut? There are enough Disney cartridges that you can cut shapes that are character specific for lots of the characters you meet at meals and in the parks. I did this last year and took a small clipboard and some different colored Sharpies with me. I'm going to do it again this year for the Pooh characters since we are doing a CP lunch:).

you could aways cut out a big 50 and have them sign that - or how about a big cupcake.
A photo mat is another idea that looks nice with a favorite picture.
just some random thoughts

I do this too! For example, I cut the purse for Daisy, their hats for Donald and Goofy, acorns for Chip and Dale, etc. and I have a mini clipboard for them to sign the cut outs on. Everyone would ask me where I got the cut-outs, and several people were like "oh, you're a scrapbooker aren't you?" :goodvibes Most of the characters had a great reaction too when they saw they had a special item to sign. (Daisy held her purse and started walking around with it before signing it!) I pretty much cut out several items per character - assuming I would see the most popular ones. For the off chance that there would a character that I didn't expect (or didn't have a cricut item to match), I just cut Mickey heads in different colors. I also did the different Sharpie colors.

Just two bits of advice though, if you go down this road: 1) make sure you cut them pretty large - some characters have fancy signatures that have been practiced on autograph-size pages, which might not translate well on a 2"x3" tag. 2) Keep two separate bags/mailers for the signed and unsigned items. You don't want to be looking for a blank tag/item while the characters are there.

I don't have a Cricut and the prices are putting the machine and Disney Cartridges out of reach right now. I do like the idea of taking a photo mat to be signed. That is something that I could use in my classroom. Thanks for the ideas. I would welcome any more that anyone has to offer.

I too, will be celebrating my 50th birthday at WDW and want to get as many autographs as possible. I’m making my own sheets on cardstock, both white and colored paper, with clipart images of the characters. The sheet states, I’m celebrating my 50th birthday with… Below the statement, I have placed a clipart image of one of the characters.

Enjoy your trip.
