Opinions wanted for solo trip planning

I'm taking my first solo trip this fall, Sept 28-Oct 4. I'm debating doing the Backstge Magic tour, but I'm afraid that will eat up too much park time. I guess my question is, how different will it be touring solo? Will I do things faster than when I'm with people? Or will it not be much different from my past trips? I'm SUPER excited to be going solo, either way:goodvibes

Any tip or opinions welcomepixiedust:

I've always wanted to do the backstage tour & some of the others e.g. The Segway tour as it looked awesome!
But yeah, I'd say you'd find it totally different to previous trips & hopefully in a good way. Doing things solo offers a lot more freedom I found as you're not continually seeking other opinions in what to do, you just go where you want, when you want! :-)
You can go through at your own speed & jump from ride to ride or just casually relax on a bench & watch the world roll by!

I prefer solo trips to any other. You can set your pace, and make changes as you want. I went solo with the premium plan last year. It was amazing. Backstage Magic is not offered on this plan. It's a great tour, but you need to devote a whole day for it. The other tours are much shorter, and you can still do other things.

If you are concerned about time constraints then consider doing more extra magic hours to make up for the tour time. Another consideration would be to get park hoppers; so, you can make up some time by going to a second park like when Animal Kingdom closes early for the day.

Also, I think it could be nice to be with a group for a while on the tour. It can be lonely at times and in a group you won't feel so lonely.

When solo, I find that I get a lot more done quickly. I make plans I think are going to take me until 5 or 6 pm, and I'm done by 2-3 hours before that. I love that! More time to do something I wouldn't normally do.

I'm going to be arriving a few days ahead of the rest of my family in sept. I'm also doing a tour but I booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK. I opted to do the tour on the Saturday because its the busiest day in the parks. I'd rather be on the tour than waiting in long lines. Save the park time for when it's less busy. Don't forget Epcot Food and Wine festival starts that week aswell. Not to be missed! Best to do during a relaxing afternoon when ride lines are long.

Well, I hope this is the first of many solo trips, so I may save the tour for next time. That way I'll have a better idea of how my days will go.

Thanks for all the responses!

I will actually disagree with this.
I avoid EMH like the plague.
A majority of disney resort guest go to the EMH park, on top of all non Disney resort guests, making it the busiest park.
Best bet is to skip morning EMH,go to a different park, then use your park hopper to get to the night EMH.

For a trip the length you are planning, I don't think the tour will prevent you from seeing everything you want in the parks. Solo touring can be much quicker than with a group, only one person to worry about for bathroom breaks, meals, etc.

The tour takes most of a day, so think of it almost as a "down" day.

Don't forget to take advantage of single rider lines at many of the major attractions, like Everest and Rockin Roller Coaster. Can save you a lot of time( and allow you to repeat your favorites several times)!

I have 4 full day solo next month. I'm doing Keys to the Kingdom one day and the Epcot Undiscovered country tour next day. On those days, I will go back to my resort enjoy then go back out for night time festivities. That gives me 2 full days and single rider lines to get everything done. So you can get in a tour and enjoy a full trip.
