Towncar or DME?

What would you do and why?

I will be traveling to WDW alone with 3 kids ages 5, 6 and 9. I will be 4 months pregnant. I don't want to have to deal with bags. I also don't want to have to wait in long lines and experience a long trip.

The last time I traveled with a towncar service, my kids had to drag their own bags and I carried a bag and the female driver with a back problem carried a small bag.

The time before that, I took a limo and the driver was not there upon arrival. I was really nervous that I had been forgotten. The driver showed up shortly after the bags came out. No big deal. I just hated that nervous feeling of someone not showing up. Also, no special treatment. Not even a glass of water.

The time before that, I took Mears. I was traveling with two small children and it was crowded. Nobody helped me load the bags on the bus and it took forever to get to the resort.

This is about the only stressful part of a WDW Vacation for me.

Help! What should I do?

I'm traveling with my DH and 2 kids ages 8 and 4. I am seriously considering either taking a taxi or hiring the towncar. I've read alot of reports of long waits/travel times to resorts. I just got off the phone with my friend who was at Orlando airport and she absolutely LOVED DME. If I was pg, I think I'd pay the extra and take the towncar. I'd also make certain I told them I was pg and that you cannot do any lifting and to be sure to have a driver who can help with your luggage!

Sweetie - I think I would take the towncar and avoid DME. I can understand not wanting to deal with the bags, but I seriously think that the parks with three children would be far more stressful than claiming your bags with three children. Also, your children are at an age where they could be helpful (as they are not infants). JMO.

However, if you take a towncar, you are going to get personal service and you will also get it when you arrive at your resort, depending on where you are staying.

Are you kidding, you deserve a limo! :rotfl2: Take care of yourself, let the driver know that you are pregnant and that you will need someone to help you with your bags. We used FLTours last trip and our driver helped us find a skycap with a cart to gather our luggage and haul it up to where he met us with the limo. I repeat, do not be afraid to ask for help if it is not offered right away. Have a great trip!

Call Jim at Golden Limo! He has always taken great care of us (and boy do we have a lot of luggage!). He calls to double check every thing. He has other vehicles besides limos, too. I don't know his telephone number but you can do a google search. CONGRATULATIONS !

Okay. So it seems I'll be going with the towncar. I'll contact the concierge today. When this trip was planned I wasn't pregnant and I thought we would give DME a try. After some bad reports I really started questioning my decision. Although, I do like the idea of not waiting for baggage claim. Since this will be a more ralaxing WDW trip than ususal, I will be needing those swim suits right away.

I would also mention to the towncar company that you will be traveling with 3 small children and are pregnant and could they make sure you were assigned a driver that would definately be able to help you . I would relay the previous experience....
