Our family have not yet tried San Angel in EPCOT. I haven't seen much discussion on this restaurant. Would love to hear from those who have had dinner at San Angel.

Many thanks.

We have eaten there several times and always enjoyed the food. It's really tight on space with tables crowded together, but the atmosphere is pretty cool. It's dark and the lights shine off the water, and the volcano in the background...the chips and salsa are so-so, the salsa is good and tastes fresh but the chips are standard supermarket fare. The rest of the food that I have had there has been really good and the margaritas are very refreshing.

Love, love, love the atmosphere, the food is only so/so. We dont usually go there now because we have excellent mexican food here and prefer to be more adventurous at EPCOT with so much to choose from.

We enjoy the food. But, it is not Tex-Mex. It is much closer to the cuisine we had when we visited Mexico City. Good, but not your typical Tex-Mex enchilada platter. As a previous poster said, the tables are so close together you're nearly in your neighbor's lap. The setting is nice, but there are very few tables by the water and if your table isn't by the water, the setting loses much of its allure, IMO.

This may well have been our best overall meal in June '07. As others have pointed out, the atmosphere is incredible with the plaza, and the pyramid, and the volcano. The boats glide by on the Rio. The food has always been very tasty, and our server this last trip was extremely personable. I would most certainly recommend a visit if you enjoy that variety of food !

Tried it last October, and really enjoyed the food. We had a really bad table location, right next to the servers station. I would agree that there aren't many great spots, other than the waterside tables. Having said that, it didn't really diminish my experience, I always seem to end up in the less desirable spots!

I'm not an expert on Mexican food, I'm only used to the Americanized version. We all had a great meal. I was happy with the kids menu, in that DS7 tried something new. He really liked his Quesadilla de Pollo. He also ate most of my appetizer, (Crema de Elote - Corn chowder with cheese and diced poblano peppers) which was not fair, as it was really yummy. We would probably eat there again, though with all the choices at Epcot it may be awhile before we get round to it! The service was really quick, I have seen people say that it's very slow and not very good, but we did not experience that at all.

We were there in Aug. Atmosphere is pretty good, although very loud and dark. Food was fair, at best. And everyone is very, very close together. Now that we have done it once, we probably won't do it again. Too many other good, or better, places to eat. We area family of 4. My DW and I, and DD, 11 and DS 15. Good luck !!

We ate there in Aug 2006. I was a bit nervous as reviews here are generally not good. But we LOVED the food and the setting (though it was a bit cramped but no big deal). The service was only so-so but the food more than made up for it.

Been there twice in the past year. Both times the service was excellent, atmosphere GREAT, and the food? Well, the food is good, but nothing amazing. Typical Mexican fare in our book, but good.

I think what I like most about the place is the feeling of being "outside" even though you are inside. The darkness, the volcano etc. make for a unique dining experience IMO.
