Opinions? PO or CB?

I plan on going back to WDW in Feb...and I have a 9 yr old and a 4 yr old..both girls. We've stayed at All Star Music and at Coronado Springs...now I'm debating between PortOrleans...either FQ or R...not sure of difference...OR...at Carribbean Beach...
Tell me plus's and minus's from your experiences.... Is one cheaper than the other? Better bus schedules? More kid friendly? Cheaper food?? Any hints?

They are all moderates so they are all the same price. Food runs about the same price too from my expirence.

I like PO much better than CB. CB was just not my cup of tea. The pool is much smaller at CB than at Riverside (haven't stayed at FQ yet) and I just liked Riverside's feel much better.

I did like that CB had a nice layout, peaceful. Most think it is to spread out, I really don't take spread out or not into consideration when booking, me personally, just because I like the extra exercise

So if that is something that is important to you, CB is much more spread out than Riverside.

I don't know if the food court has changed at CB since my visit in 2000 but it was at that time where you went up to each "window" and had to pay at each one, so if you wanted something here and there you had to pay 2 times, that I didn't like, again I don't know if this has changed or not.

At Riverside it was like Coronado where you could go to each place and get what you want then pay all at once.

I don't dislike CB, its just my least favorite moderate. Would I stay there again? Sure I would, but again, it would be my last choice (so far, again haven't stayed at FQ) in the moderate catergory.

We, on the other hand, absolutely love CBR but we do not have any kids (yet) It only comes down to theming and we love the tropical feel - we live in New England and feel that CBR's theming makes us feel like we are even further away from home than the theming at PORS or POFQ. We don't stay at the resorts much so the pools don't matter to us but I'm sure it's different for everyone. We did notice that the main pool near the food court is much smaller than pictures we have seen of the pools at the other resorts but when we did sit by the pool in Jamaica (where we always stay), we thought it was very peaceful and beautiul. We also love the transportation from Jamaica which is usually the first bus stop to p/u and d/o which is always very helpful. We also love laying on the hammocks on the beach at night and watching the fireworks. This year we decided to do a few nights at CSR for a change but I am pretty certain that CBR will always be our favorite - good luck with your decision!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with either resort. We love CBR but have stayed at POR several times also.

The beaches at CBR are nice for kids.

The food court at CBR has been refurbished and you pay at a central check out like POR.

CBR has many quiet pools and they are never crowded.

I have stayed at both CB and POR with two DS's and DH. We liked both resorts for different reasons.
As for food courts POR is much better with what fells like more food choices.
Decor; CB is brighter and airier, not sure if I spelled that right. POR was a warm down home kind of fell with lots of shade and trees.
CB is great for romance and has a beach and hammocks to relax in. POR has a better pool IMHO for the kids with a hot tub right near by and is easier to acess from all parts of the resort then the one at CB.
CB rooms are slightly larger and feel a little more deluxe then the POR also offers trundle beds so kids don't have to sleep together which can sometimes be an issue for night time wigglers.
POR has a boat to DTD which my kids love to ride.
Overall it is what you want in a resort that matters because both are great they just offer different things.

Thanks Spaz for that report!! I think I'm leaning towards CB...because I love the beach...and I'm in the south...I have that down home shade feel already...lol
We'll see if either offer a discount rate...or if money stays tight..we may have to do an offsite (hoping not tho!!)
