We are going to Disney the Friday before Thanksgiving and will be staying until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. For the Friday-Friday, we will be staying at Westgate resorts b/c we own there. However, w/ this being the holiday week, I don't think we can get an extra night there like we usually do. I had thought about getting somewhere cheap on 192, just outside of DW. We will probably be there just to sleep and shower Friday night and Saturday morning. We would need to be leaving early Saturday morning for the airport.

However, I did think about staying Friday night on site! I was just thinking about a Value resort. ($ isn't quite so important here, we would probably pay about $125.00 for a night at Westgate. We can get a Value room for $110.00) We have never stayed on site before.

I am trying to decide if it is worth it. We wont be there long, but it would still be an actual Disney resort and there could be some advantages. Would it be possible for us to drop our luggage off early Friday morning and the use the buses or either not have to pay for parking that day? If something happened and there was very bad weather or we needeed to go back to the room, it would be convienent. (We normally don't do breaks out of the parks)

Like I said this will be the day after Thanksgiving, so I'm not sure what impact that would have.

Please give me any thoughts or concerns about this. Thank you!!

When you get to your Disney resort you can check in and then head off to the parks. Once you are a resort guest you wouldn't pay for parking. Your room probably won't be ready but they give you a phone number to call to check on it. Checking in early is a good idea before you go to the park. They give you room keys so you don't have to stop at the front desk again.

Stay on site. The crowds will be extremely high that day. You could take advantage of EMH and the free parking.

Thanks for that advice. I called today and found out we can get an All Stars room for 84.00 w/ AAA discount. I think we will probably do this.

My question now is, would they definantly (sp?) let you check in about 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning? I realize we probably couldn't get into the room then, but is there any reason we wouldn't get our key and get all the check in stuff out of the way? Also, would they definantly be able to store our luggage for us?

Thanks! :sunny:

Yes they will let you check in early. As you mentioned the room may not be ready. But they will give you your keys and a phone number so you can check to see when the room is ready. Yes they will hold your luggage for you.
