My adult daughter and I are planning a summer trip. We have been many times but have not been in the last 4 years. We have narrowed down our resort choices based on military discount availability and resorts we've not stayed at before. So I would like opinions based on your experiences at All Star Movies, POFQ and CSR. I'm very interested in the availability of buses in the morning because I am a rope drop person. Thanks for your help!

We are all adult travelers now too ...

ASMO - really cute when kids younger but I feel like there will be so many young kids I am not drawn to return. I probably would book preferred if we returned as I didn't care for the back of the resort. IF buses are on share mode (some parks last trip were a given like AK) then you are last on the bus and last dropped off. A drag if you end up standing.

POFQ - is fine, nice Victorian style rooms, great imagineering on the outside design. It was kinda underwhelming and maybe because I've been to real NOLA since so quite and dead feeling. There is no table service, a mini hot tub, pool very geared for YOUNG children if any of that is important. The boat to DS is very nice so if you plan time down there that would be a big plus. Most times they have their own bus but we have shared with POR as well.

CSR - the deluxe of the moderates became my kids favorites when teens and still their favorite as adults. Stunning day or night, great themed main pool with bar, quick service and largest hot tub among other things. LOVE the three different themes in the resort. Has LOTS of dining options and a few bars. Bus service is one of the best. And so far best bed I've had on property.

While I would stay at any of them for the right price, I would choose CSR first, then POFQ, then ASMo.

POFQ is one of my absolute favorite resorts. It's such a small resort, that no matter where your room is located you are a very short walk from everything- buses, parking lots, dining, pools, etc. That is especially nice when you go back to your room after a long day in the parks and you're tired and your feet are sore! Plus, when you're a guest at POFQ, you have access to everything at POR- pools, dining, etc. So you really do get the benefits of staying in a small resort AND staying in a large resort! It's really the best of both worlds. Also, the beignets are delicious! And the boat to Disney Springs is nice!

Haha, I am not a rope drop person. I'm a sleep-in person. So I can't help you out with morning bus availability. But I haven't ever had any problems with bus availability any other time of the day...

I would go with either CSR or POFQ, look at some resort photos and theme and pick the one you like. Buses are hit or miss at any of the resorts, value, mods or deluxes. We really like both resorts with POFQ being our favorite. CSR a lot of times is called a deluxe-lite because it has a spa and gym, but if you do not use them, like us, then it's just another great Mod resort:) If you like to have a cocktail, CSR has an adult lounge and also a nice outside bar by the pond.

I'd go with everything Hopper said, with CSR on top. It's just the pinnacle of awesome to stay at a resort that never, ever shares buses.

If I didn't actually live in New Orleans, my 1st choice would be POFQ. The main reason is the size of the resort. My experience from staying at POR is that the very few times buses were shared, POFQ was on and off first.

I don't think you could go wrong with CSR either.

ASMovies. I haven't stayed there before. I have stayed at ASMu and I have loved it. So much so that I think our next trip will likely be back at ASMu. The plus I found at the All Stars (which I did NOT think was a plus at the time, but after POR I changed my mind) is that there is a roped queue for the bus lines. Also, my experience is that the All Stars don't share during high traffic times.

I would choose between POFQ and CSR. I admit that POFQ is my favorite, but honestly CSR is where I tend to send people. It is Deluxe Lite, and is often less expensive than POFQ when you are offered discounts. The amenities are very nice, the bus service very good.

Bus service is one of the best.
I agree with this statement...CSR has one of the best bus service options out there. The only thing that would make me consider POFQ is the boat access to DS.

The worst busses will be All Stars in my opinion, and the best will be POFQ. Personally I would go POFQ though CS is very nice as well.

It depends on your goals and money situation. If you have stayed at any of the value resorts, they are pretty much all alike and if you've only stayed in moderate or deluxe resorts might be a bit of a let down. I'll get flamed but they remind me of an overly theamed Motel 6. POFQ is a smaller resort but again has a very motel type feeling and of all the moderates, my least favorite but if you enjoy DS there is the boat to there. CSR is a nice resort, I'm not as thrilled with it as others are but find nothing really wrong with it. As far as the buses, the buses are the buses are the buses and you are going to get good and bad service everywhere. Rope drop is most likely going to be crowded no matter where you stay, as others have mentioned, the advantage of the value bus stops is the they do have actual roped ques which cuts down on the grown up adult people who don't know how to stand in a line jumping in front of others. They are not shaded where the moderate and deluxe bus stops are.

I think bus service is better at CSR not just because it never shares buses with adjacent resorts, but also because of location, which results in relatively short trip times. From CSR to both Epcot and DHS is five minutes, once the bus leaves the resort, since CSR is essentially across the street from DHS. And MK and AK are both about ten-minute rides. Neither POFQ nor the All-Stars can match that. Each of those has at least one 15-20 minute trip.
