Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen or House of Blues????

Thanks!!

I have never been to either, but you can get a screaming deal on a HOB coupon from Restaurant.com. Its usually $10 for a $25 gift card, but when they offer 80% off coupon codes, you can get the $25 gift card for $2. I believe you have to spend at least $35 while dining, and they add 18% tip.

Have you looked at their menus?
HOB:http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/men_hob.htm
RB:http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/men_jazz.htm

Good luck deciding...

Thanks for the tip! I actually knew that about the gift certificate, that's why I was asking. We have eaten at Ralph Brennan's but not at the House of Blues. I just didn't want to buy the gift certificate if House of Blues was heinous, haha.

Thanks!

Good point....we are also considering eating there because of the coupon. The current promo code is GOBBLE (through 11/25) for 80% at r.com. I might just buy the coupon.....even if we don't eat there, I have only spend $2.

Hopefully others with actual dining experience chime in soon!

Only eaten at RB's not HOB in DLR, but ate at HoB in New Orleans before Katrina. HoB is really a place to drink, see performances rather than eat IMHO. Go to RB's.

Just checked for a HOB giftcard through my work discount site and right now they have $50 for $17 or $25 for $7!!!
I am extremely tempted to get the $50 one....
Will they allow you to use the giftcard & your AP discount?
Do they expire?
Thanks!!

If it is a restaurant.com coupon it can't be combined.
If it is a HOB Gift Card you can use the AP discount.

In one way or the other both will eventually expire.

No combining allowed. Also if you're buying from rest.com make sure you check the rules, if you buy a $50 one you have to buy something like $100 in food and you have to use it all at once. Just make sure it's a good deal before you buy it.

But I vote for the Jazz Kitchen, we've never been disappointed there, loved everything. Keep in mind we have not eaten at HoB.

Also know that the Jazz Kitchen offers a discount to AP holders.

My DD and I just ate at HOB last week using a $2 restaurant.com certificate. We had a good experience. The menu has burgers(around $13-15 if I remember right) and also dinner entrees. I think the lowest priced dinner entree was around $18 - so two of these and you have the $35 min covered. We both enjoyed our dinners. My daughter and I shared a side salad, but other than getting some vegetables into her, there was no need for this extra. Drinks (non-alcoholic) are in the $4-5 range. I LOVED the watermelon spritzer and neither my daughter or I ever sat with an empty glass. My daughter had a mushroom pasta in a cream sauce that was delicious but very rich. She only ate about half and was stuffed. I had the rosemary chicken- a very simple grilled chicken breast. I pulled of the skin so did not get much rosemary flavor, but the chicken was very moist. It was served on mashed potatoes and with a large portion of grilled vegetables. I left food on my plate as well. Even with coupon it was still a $20 per person meal for us (including tip). Restaurant is noisy and filled with activity. My DD (16) loved it- I thought it was fun, but if you wanted to have a romantic/quiet dinner - this is not the place. We would go back, but not without a restaurant .com certificate. I have only had the beignets at RBJK so cant compare a meal. The beignets, however, were fabulous.

We ate in the Bar as HOB was over flowing with Prom kids as was Jazz! My DD and I had the Shimp por-boy sandwich with clowslay for me and cottage cheese for her. Dh had a big burger with cheese and bacon and onion rings. We had no coupons but the food was so good we didn't care! and we left sandwich bread it was too much!!

We would definitely go again for $14.oo

..but on the other hand :lmao: i have been to HOB, and i liked the food. we ate at th bar it was very good

I think I'll stay with Ralph Brennans. Thanks for all of your opinions!!

If you want to carry on a conversation while eating I'd choose Brennans.... If you like overly loud music go with HOB!!! ;)

Just wondering, once you buy a coupon how long until it expires? The 80% off is a great deal but we're still a ways off from our trip.
Thanks!

In CA they don't expire, BUT the restaurant can stop taking them so be aware of that. Rest.com does the sales regularly so even if you don't get one today you can get one later. :)

HOB for the Gospel Brunch - awesome food!! Better than Ralph Brennan's in my opinion.
