I just booked a 5-night stay in a studio at the VWL. My first choice, though, was the BWV (put on waiting list). There were no studios available for our stay in June; just 1Bdrm. Since it's just my daughter & I, didn't think I should waste the pts. on that big of a room.

We are BW snobs - it's our home resort and we absolutely LOVE it there! Now I'm thinking maybe I should take the 1bdrm., and hope that a studio opens up; and if not, at least we're still at the BW. The VWL looks beautiful, but what we love about the BW is it's proximity to Epcot, MGM, and the BW night-time activities. The two parks we visit the most are MK and Epcot; we usually spend most nights at Epcot because it's so convenient to walk back to our resort when it closes.

Can someone "sell" me on the VWL? For someone who enjoys all the activity surrounding the BW, would we find the VWL a little too quiet and dull?

Any opinions would be appreciated!:)

June is 7 months away. I don't believe your wait list won't come through....so relax and get ready for BWV. VWL is a great resort, but with Epcot being your primary park, there's no beaing BCV & BWV. My money says you'll be at BWV this June :goodvibes

Camster, I am also a BW snob! It was the site of our first family vacation to the World, and it remains my very favorite resort, hands down.

However...I force myself to stay someplace different every time we go, because Disney has so much to offer, I want each trip there to give us something a little different. We've stayed at SSR, BCV, and even All Star Movies and have found something wonderful and unique about all of them. Each trip my kids found something new to love.

I have never stayed at Wilderness Lodge, we are planning to visit next December and would love to be there because of the whole Christmas ambiance (although this board tells me that it's hard to book in December without the 11 month advantage). But my advice would be to stay there and see if you might find a new place to love, along with our beloved Boardwalk!

:cool1:

We had a two bedroom at wilderness lodge and loved it. But, it is a long walk to and from your room

We own at both BWV and VWL. AKV, too! We love them all for different reasons. I love the theme at VWL. Quiet, beautiful, outdoors, western US, etc. And it is very convenient to go to MK. I love BWV, too, for the reasons you said. I don't like the actual villas theme as much but I love the closeness to Epcot and MGM, the ability to walk there when I want to.

If you really really love BWV, then you should stay there. It is much quieter at night at VWL, but that's part of what we love about the place, too. Very peaceful.

We're also BWV owners/lovers but VWL will give you terrific MK access -- just a short boat ride away!

I'd have to say definitely stay with the studio accommodation to save the points since you don't need the 1BR, and if your waitlist comes through then GREAT, but if it doesn't, you'll have points left over to make another trip, and I don't think you'll be disappointed by VWL. Definitely a new experience for you and that, to me, is part of why we like going to WDW as often as we can - there is ALWAYS something new to experience whether it is a different place to stay or a new attraction or new shop or something we just haven't done before.

We haven't stayed there yet - but are trying out a studio at VWL in January. I've always heard great things about it and am looking forward to checking it out! We bought at SSR but started out last summer with our first DVC trip to OKW. We want to try ALL of the DVC resorts and will probably book a different one each time...or every other time. We loved AKL on our first trip several years ago and are going to try AKV this summer. We want each trip to be different & staying in different resorts each time we go will help accomplish that. It's also the great thing about how DVC works - we love the idea that (based on availability) we can book any WDW DVC. I say change it up, save the points & enjoy it! :thumbsup2 It's only for 5 nights and is not the end of the world! BWV will be there for you the next time!

You know the old saying, "nothing ventured, nothing gained"... you are a BW snob because you have not ventured out to see what is beyond your property line !! YOu will probably get similiar responses from people who vacation only at the other DVC resorts.

Why waste 1br points when you only need a studio and who's to say you will not enjoy the VWL.

Imagine if Columbus had decided to stay at home and not head out into the unknown oceans !!!

I know, I know - you all make very good points! I'm such a creature of habit though. What can I say - I like what I know and I know what I like!

Anyway, because of all the positive things I've read about the VWL, I'm keeping the ressie and getting off the BWV waitlist. All of you were right - change is good and I'm looking forward to new experiences at the WL!:woohoo: And, anyway, I'll now be back at the BWV in Nov. for our annual trip - with a 1bdrm.! Thanks for the guidance everyone.:santa:
