My family are on the dining plan for April of 2008. My boys are going to be 12, 9, and 3 at the time. Which of these would you pick...
Le Cellier--I am worried about the 3 year old here
Concourse Steakhouse
Chef Mickey's-- we are already going to be having breakfast here. Never been for dinner.

I know they are different. We have never been to any of them before for dinner and only Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I make my ADR's on Thursday and would like some input. TIA

Why are you worried about the 3 yo at Le cellier. Is it the menu or do you think it is "too fine dining" for him. Because honestly IMO, it is WDW kids eat at all the restaurants there! As long as you make an earlier ADR time so he/she isn't super cranky then you should be fine.

If you want something for the kids then choose chef mickeys. The buffet is good food, great atmosphere for the kids.

Concourse is great as well.

So IMO, you can't go wrong with any of them. I would however go with Le Cellier or Concourse if you want a steller meal for the WHOLE family, not just the kids. Not that Chef Mickeys isn't good food, I just think Steak houses and buffets are apples and oranges.

The reason I am worried about the 3 year old is he isn't the most well behaved child in sit down restaurants. He is getting better than he was, and I guess I am hoping that by that time he will be alot better but I am trying to be realistic. I really don't want to be one of those people who has a "bad" kid in a nicer restaurant. So I guess that is what I am getting at.

I really liked Chef Mickey's for dinner. Not so much the food, but the character interaction was great. I think if we do one character meal on our next trip, it will be CM. Although we did enjoy Crystal Palace's food a lot more so maybe we'll do that for lunch one day. We won't be on the DDP so we'll only have 2-3 ADR's and eat at the food court or counter services. We're not too picky with food anyway.

We returned from WDW last week w/ our 3 yo son. We had ADRs for Le Cellier our last day (and it was a lunch), but decided to cancel it and do another character meal b/c the nicer restaurants just were not that much fun for us w/ a very, very busy little toddler. I'm sure he and other people would have done well enough, but we would find ourselves getting uptight if we was not sitting/behaving properly and would in the end, not enjoy ourselves as much. Our son definitely had much more fun and was always entertained at the character meals which made for a more enjoyable dining experience all the way around! So...my vote would be for CM dinner...which was great by the way. He could even watch the monorail go thru the hotel while the characters were on break.
