DH and I are debating a 6 day Feb. trip and we always try to stay someplace new (for us, anyway). We can't afford a deluxe for the whole trip so we are planning on ASMo.

But I had a brainstorm this morning - maybe we could spend the last one or two nights in a deluxe?!?! :) We've never stayed at a deluxe before and the only mod we haven't tried is Carribean Beach.

Since we're planning to be there such a short time, would it just be more trouble than it's worth to move?

Any opinions about the move or suggestions on hotels to move to are gratefully appreciated!! :D

...never done a split/stay at more thsn one resort, either, but next week we will be checking into CBR for 5 days, followed by 5 days at WL. I will be sure to let you know how it goes. I guess, if you don't have really young children, travel light/live out of your suitcase, don't mind "losing" a few hours for the transfer, or other things that would determine your decision, I'd say "GO FOR IT!!"

Checking into CBR:
8 days - 21 minutes - HOORAY!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Sure, I think that would work fine, especially not having kids. But beware, once you go to a deluxe, you may find hard to go back to anything else. You'll find yourself finding ways to save the extra $$$ for the trip. But I think your idea would be a great way to cap off the trip!

:p

We got back a couple of weeks ago. We stayed at FR-QT for 5 nights and WL for 4 nights. We loved it. It felt like two different vacations. I have 2 DDs. It was no big deal switching. We did have a car and moved our luggage in the morning. Just checked in and left lugguage. Off to AK and then came back around 3:00. Room was ready and they brought our luggage to room. From now on we will always switch.

Kimmar,, our next trip, I would like to try CBR, so I am looking forward to your reveiws..... thanks corvair....

...will do!!!;) (looking forward to WL, too!!!:) )

We have done a split stay as well and loved it...I love staying at new resorts on Disney, so this was a great idea by DH...We stayed at WL for five nights and then AKL for three nights and it was great! I highly recommend it if you don't mind moving your stuff...:)

Thanks for the opinions! More feedback is very welcome! :)

kimmar - let me know how it goes and how you like CBR & WL (potentials on our "to try" list!)

BrianD - that's exactly what I'm afraid of - getting "used to" deluxe vs. value :o That's why I thought it would be better to go from ASMo to deluxe at the end! ;)

Thanks for the input, corvair & Beanie :) :) :) :)

Last year we spent 5 nights at ASMO, then 1 at the Poly. It worked so well, we are doing it again this year.
Yes packing up and unpacking can be somewhat of a pain, but its not really bad at all. You have to pack up at the end anyway, and if its only 1 night you dont really have to "unpack" when you get to the new hotel. Just take out what you need for the 1 day. Also, if its a deluxe, they have the shampoo, soap, hairdryer, etc...so thats much less you have to unpack there.
Good luck!

We have done this a few times. I really enjoy staying at
more than one resort. This year we are staying at PORfor 7 nights, butlast week decided to stay at a deluxe - Yacht Club for 3 nights.I am very excited because it is too costly to stay at a
deluxe for all the nights. I hope it works out well. I think you
should try it. Good Luck - I say go for it. :)

Doyle we had a car with us and only 5 people last year so we just drove over. This year we will have 1 car and 7 people so all of us and luggage wotn fit. We plan to have bell services move the luggage at their leisure. We will drive from ASMO to Poly early in the morning and do the official "checking in" then. Then hop the monorail to the MK and return to the hotel to settle in with our luggage around 2:00.
With no car you could have BS move the luggage and just take a bus to whatever park you are going to for the day. When you are ready to go to the new hotel, just take a bus or whatever transportation is available(boat, monorail) back to the new resort, check in and get your luggage. Or you could do a cab but that would cost more.

I bought 2 laundry bags (the netting type). One is for my two DS's (they will have a connecting room) and one for us. Instead of piling their clothes in a corner (like their bedrooms!! -lol-) they will (hopefully) put their dirty things in the bag. The night before we leave for WL, I will take the 2 bags to the laundry room and do a few loads of wash. Then, the freshly cleaned clothes will go directly back into the suitcases. I will be sure to call BS to inform them that the luggage will be transferred to WL and to have them pick the luggage up at, say, 8AM the next morning. Luckily,my DS(ister), who is driving to WDW, volunteered to pick us up at CBR to take us to WL, so I won't have to get a cab or wait for any buses.

I've done this twice. Once last 2 nights at AKL, once last night at OKW. Just brought luggage to bell services (you could call and have them pick up your luggage if you'd rather) and told them which hotel it was to go to. Then I got on the bus to a theme park and when I was ready to leave, I went to the bus stop for the new resort. Once checked in, my luggage was always brought right up to me. Never any problem. In November, I'm thinking of doing 3 resorts in 4 days, it's so much fun to try different resorts (as long as you don't have children to pack for).
