Hi, we just got back from the CR tower club. We had a wonderful time. So much fun that we are planning to go again to the CR next July. We want to go back to disney this November. We can't swing the CR due to $$, so we will wait to go all out again next summer. Hubby says we can go in Nov. if we get a good price on rooms.(we need 2 rooms). In your opinions, where should we stay. I'm thinking about the moderates, but they have no balconies, How are the hotels on Hotel Plaza. The Hotel Royal Plaza seems nice, but we don't know much about it. I know enough not to compare the WDW deluxe resorts, so that won't be a problem. We just want everything a deluxe at disney has, but want to pay value prices. We have no problem with using our car to travel to the parks, but we don't want to stay in Orlando. All those hotels near dtd look very nice from the outside, but we were never in them. We use the balcony VERY much, so I would hate not to have one. We love dtd so much, as my hubby is still yelling about all we spent there. We do use all the facilities at the resorts, so we don't use the rooms only to sleep in. Lobbies, restaurants, gift shops and everything else a hotel offers mean alot to us, so now I'm at a loss as to where to stay. I guess we have caviar taste with beer budget (actually, this time, water is more like it). Our other option is not going in Nov. and just waiting til July, but I'm so depressed at being back in reality, that I would LOVE to go again in Nov. Any help, please, and honest opinions would help me out alot. Thanks.

IF you are going on your all out CR trip next year and you know that it is coming....and,....the only way you can squeeze in another trip.....Is to go on a budget

USe priceline.....I have gotten The Hyatt, Sheraton Safari, Renaissance world gate, Grosevenor....all for only 35.00 per nite
great hotels ....pools, rooms, everything Great. I have also gotten Marroitt OWC for a bit more. Fabulous hotel.

Part 2: Use the DIsney Hotels as much as you like... We usually start each day at a hotel breakfast...makes us feel more part of the Inside Magic....go and enjoy the restaurants, hang out.. walk around the property...shop in the shops...DO what you want to!
We went last time to Ohana's for dinner...we went early...sat out by the pool bar for a drink....then had dinner...then went and sat on the dock to watch the fireworks over the castle...I felt completely immersed in the magic.

Part 3........remember...you are going back to CR....its not the end of the world....better to go....then to NOT go....that is my theory and i am sticking to it.

Here is my website...I have lots of secrets to Disney

Try vistana village or vistana resort through hotelkingdom.com, very luxurios, great locations 1or 2 bedrooms balconies, jacuzzies, washer adryer and kitchen in unit I've stayed at vistana village, it's very beautiful, great pool with water falls, hot tub- happy hunting! goofy4 mickey48:cool:

Hello fellow 'Garden Staters'! Ok! Since you asked, here's my thoughts....

First, if you are thinking of Teacher Convention week, flights are already very hard to find at low prices. Don't want to depress you further, but people start booking these a year in advance-it's become a really popular time.:( You could try Philly or AC, but I know from travel agent friends that even these are tough. If you are driving, this isn't an issue.

Second, WDW moderates often have fall discount prices (check here or at 'mousesavers.com'). If these are available, I would ALWAYS prefer these to off-site-even Hotel Royal Plaza area! I've done both over the past 30 years, and to me there is a real loss of 'magic' when you become a commuter! (Just MHO-please don't get upset if anyone disagrees!).

Third, check my earlier post about our return from CBR. We had connecting rooms in Jamaica and actually thought it was a PERFECT resort (and we are confirmed POLY lovers!). We used outside courtyard as our balcony-just beautiful! We paid $94 per room.

Hope this helps a bit! PM if I can help further!:D

We are staying at the Royal Hotel Plaza for 3 nights in August. For the money and breakfast included, I couldn't justify paying non-fall rates for a disney hotel. I'll post my thoughts when we go (August 22 - 25).

We stayed at FW Cabins for 160/night in May, then at POR for 84/night then to the Swan Club for 185/night.

I liked POR best. I loved walking the grounds, we loved the themed pool/quiet pool choice, boat, paddle boats, gift shop, lobby etc!

I've never stayed at the CR, but have stayed at the Poly and GF. For the money we paid for the POR it really was a great value for how much we loved the resort.

Our next trip includes CBR (never stayed) and a couple of nights at the GF. I'm hoping I'll love the CBR equally to POR?

In any case, I really do think you will love the moderates like I did. If you absolutely MUST have a balcony, consider the Wilderness Lodge. We stayed there in December (I didn't love it but I'm in the minority). The rooms have balconies and I've seen some prices as low as 134/night.

There's one other thing to consider as far as the moderates are concerned. I don't really know how you use your balcony, but it may be possible to use the beautiful courtyards instead. We like POFQ the best, but CBR has some beautiful places to sit and relax between the buildings. They're usually desolate. Most guests at WDW don't really take a lot of time to stop and smell the roses, so to speak, so when they're not at the parks or in the pool, they're in their rooms. If you use your balcony to sit while little kids sleep inside the room, then obviously that won't work for you, but if you just want to have a place to get away and enjoy your coffee, it may be just fine.
