Opinions please: Citrico's or Victoria & Albert's?

I know that these two aren't exactly directly comparable, but I'm having a hard time deciding if it's worth the extra cost for V&A's, and I'd love to hear anyone's input.

Here's the situation: We are heading to WDW in August, staying at the Poly (first time! ). It's me, DH, and our 3 DSs. Our 12th anniversary is a couple of weeks after our trip, and I thought it might be nice to celebrate while we are there. We plan to have an in-room sitter for the kids one night, so we can go out by ourselves. (Youngest DS is only 2, so we can't use the kids' clubs.) So, we'll already be paying a fair amount for the sitter. Is it worth the extra splurge to do V&A's? It would be our anniversary present to each other. Dinner will likely also take longer there, making the babysitting bill higher, too.

Thoughts?

Before I went I thought "gee, this is expensive, but for a once-in-a-lifetime splurge, I'll suck it up." After going, it is WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! I will definitely be doing it again. I'd pick V&A for this special meal, especially since you could go to Citricos with kids anytime but you can't go to V&A with kids.

It is truly an incredible experience, probably my favorite thing I've EVER done at Disney. And I'm not even a foodie!

Haven't been to V&A's...yet. But, we did try Citricos for the first time a few months back and I was not impressed. I am sure that doesn't help but I had to throw it out there. I would probably try V&A's. Hey, you only live once!

I agree with the other posters about trying V & A--go for it. I've not tried it primarily because of the cost, but I have experienced Citrico's. . .and left completely unimpressed--the service was haughty and patronizing when it could be found (drinks not refilled, coffee cups bone dry at dessert, etc.), the food poorly prepared (my steak was raw--I ordered medium. . .sent it back and it came back 25 mins later still raw), and the general ambience underwhelming. It's not an experience I can recommend.

I think the in-room sitting has a four hour minimum, so unless you are doing the CT or QVR at V&A the meal will take about 2½ hours.

I would definitely go with V&A over Citrico. Or, if you don't want to spend the money (although V&A is definitely worth it) a better alternative to Citrico is Jiko.
