Opinions please- Christmas at VWL

Hi,

I am planning to go back to Disney in the beginning of Dec. I really would like to stay at VWL and have someone willing to rent me their points, but SSR is their home resort so they need to wait until May to book. Can someone give me any idea as to whether it would be safe to wait until May to book or should I try to find someone who can book it now for me?

Dec is a crowded time at VWL for DVC. Might be better to find someone who could book now.

what's that saying about a bird in the hand beats two in a bush. Go for it now, from what I can tell from these boards VWL is a pretty popular place when the holiday decorations go up. If you can get someone to rent you points now, I'd grab it.

Good advice. Early December is argueably DVC's busiest time, and VWL is the smallest resort.

VWL may already be sold out for the dates you want to travel, and I think there is very little likelihood that you'll be able to get what you want in May.

i've never had any problems getting into VWL in mid Dec - xmas for a studio. My home resort is SS so my window is 7 months. and i go for 10 nts. Never had a problem getting my full 10 nts in 3 yrs although i have been waitlisted but it always comes thru.

Yeah, don't wait. You'll already be waitlisted for a studio for the first week of december.

We booked our 2 bdrm and then went to add friends on with a studio 11 months out to the day, and got waitlisted. These are the same friends that didn't ask us until july last year and never got in. Luckily their waitlist came through the next week and we're all going together.

We just had another couple ask if they could rent points at vwl that week or the next from us for a studio, and I had to tell them they're sitting on a waitlist for a while.

We own at VWL and were not able to get a 2 bedroom for the first week in December. I did wait and called 2 weeks ago--not very smart, but we were not sure we were going then.

I am presently on the wait list.
