My sister is bringing my DGN6 (great nephew) to visit us and the "Kingdom" the week between Palm Sunday and Easter (yikes.... usually the times I stay out of the parks). Anyway, I currently have ADRs for Chef Mickey for his first day ever at Magic Kingdom. DD8 and I did exactly that when we first visted three years ago, and we loved the experience and interaction with the characters.

In the past few weeks DD and I have been to several character breakfasts, and enjoyed them all, but now I am torn between Chef Mickey and Ohana (gotta love that Stitch). Still leaning toward CM due to the monorail throught the building, and it is the "core" characters of Disney.... I'm thinking Mickey, Minnie, C&D, Pluto - are those the normal characters?

I know we are paying for the food, but IMO, it's more about the characters and the experience than how much of the food we enjoy or don't enjoy for this day!

Thanks.

I would go with CM. It is so lively and exciting in there. A GREAT way to start off his GREAT day.

I haven't been to O'Hana for breakfast in a few years, so I won't comment on it. On the other hand, we visited Chef Mickey's for brunch on Christmas Day. All I can say is YUCK!! The boring, boring, boring food had been sitting out for some time and much of it was NOT replenished during our more than 60 minutes there. The character interaction was terrible, too. We won't be going there again for quite some time. We overheard a number of people complaining about the food, service, and characters during our visit.

If you are looking for a good character breakfast, I could highly recommend the Crystal Palace in the MK. We try to visit CP for breakfast at least once each visit. We've dined at all different times throughout the morning and the food, service, and character interaction has been great every time.

We were at Ohana on Jan. 28th for breakfast. It was our favorite meal. The character interaction was wonderful. Our DS (3) laughed the entire time. We were there at 8:00 AM. The restaurant was almost empty, so the characters came around several times and stayed longer than any other meal. The food was excellent- some of the best. Our server was very attentative. We did Chef Mickey's for dinner, so I can't comment on their breakfast. Dinner was good. I just enjoyed Ohana's more.

We were at 'Ohana for breakfast last month and had a blast. Stitch and Pluto had a running string of joking aroud throughout breakfast.

We've generally done CM as our dinner on the day of arrival and 'Ohana for breakfast on our day of departure (start and end the trip with ::MickeyMo). We've never done breakfast at CM, so I really cannot comment on the food.

Does your guest of honor have a character preference? If he's a daily disciple of Lilo & Stitch, the series on Disney Channel, I'd say 'Ohana hands down. If he's more of a House of Mouse kid, then CM may be the one. I'd pick the one with the character set he'll enjoy the most. You'll get ::MickeyMo at either location...
