Opinions or suggestions on my ADRS?

We're going to WDW for the first time in November. We're staying at Pop Century and have the DDP. I made ADR's but I keep second guessing whether I've made the best choices. Since I've never been, it's difficult to know if there's any problems and it's near impossible to get an opinion out of my DH. Does this look okay or would you change anything?

We will have our two sons (3 and 5) and my in-laws with us. The in-laws are on a different dining plan and will only eat meal a day with us. There's lots of other restaurant's I'd rather eat at, but I tried to make sure the kids, DH and in-laws would be happy too (hopefully, we'll go back again so I can eat at them next time).

Opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

11/26 Arrival day (plane lands at 11)
5:50 Restaurant Marrakesh for 6

11/27 Hollywood Studios
7:55 'Ohana for 4
4:00 Sci-Fi Dine In Theater for 6

11/28 Magic Kingdom
8:20 Crystal Palace for 4
QS lunch at Cosmic Ray's
7:20 California Grill for 4 (may move this to 7:50 and not take kids. When I was looking at it online they really wanted to go here though. It was actually one of their favorites?)

11/29 Animal Kingdom
8:20 Tusker House for 4
QS lunch at Flame Tree Barbeque
7:15 HDDR (if we can ever make reservations)

11/30 Epcot
12:25 Biergarten for 6
QS dinner
MVMCP

12/1 Magic Kingdom
10:45 Chef Mickey's for 4
5:15 Tony's Town Square (kids and in-laws)
8:00 Spirit of Aloha Show (DH and I)

12/2
9:30 Whispering Canyon Cafe for 4
1:45 Planet Hollywood (using any remaining TS and/or vouchers)

Are you on the regular DDP or the DxDDP? You have 14 TS credits planned for a 6-night stay. If you are on the regular plan, that's a lot of OOP costs!!

If you decide to keep them all, the only one that I see a potential problem with is your HS day. A 4:00 at Sci-Fi and then an 8:00 at Ohana's. You won't be very hungry for all that delicious meat and dessert at Ohana if you just finished eating around 3 hrs before. I'd try to move the Sci-Fi to a little earlier if I were you.

I think they are eating at Ohana in the morning and then Sci Fi at 4 in the afternoon.

I think your plan sounds great! I love Ohana, CG, Sci Fi and we're trying Tusker House for the first time this year for breakfast.

I think your plan looks fantastic. Keep in mind you won't be able to eat everywhere on your first trip. You've spaced them out really well.

The only potential issue I can see is your 7:55 breakfast ADR at Ohana. You should be able to get there fine, but if you want to do Rope Drop at DHS that day for Toy Story Midway Mania, you'll be crunched to make it in time. You would likely be able to get Fast Passes for later in the day, but you'd probably only get to ride it once with a short wait. I have a feeling your boys will love this ride.

For California Grill, taking the kids could be really nice. I've heard they have fantastic views of Wishes, and you 7:20pm ADR should set you up to be in the restaurant during that time (8PM). There's a viewing deck if you don't get a table next to the window. If you push it back to 7:50, you may end up waiting longer for your table due to the people lingering. (this is just what I've heard, I haven't eaten there myself)

Depending on how late you want to stay up, you could attend evening Extra Magic Hours at the Magic Kingdom and/or watch the Electrical Water Pageant in Bay Lake. Of course, you and your husband could catch the pageant on the night you do the Spirit of Aloha, if you don't want to keep your kids up.

It seems you've done your research. I know how hard it is to anticipate all these ADRs. I don't plan everything out in that much detail for anywhere but Disney.

I agree with PP about your morning Ohana plans on your DHS day. Making it to rope drop will be extremely difficult even with your own rental car (even then you probably need some luck of having the characters hit your table as soon as you sit down), and I don't think it's do-able with Disney transportation. So, it depends on what you had planned for your DHS day. If TSM or Jedi Training are your focal points, then making it to rope drop will be important.

I'm not sure what a good alternative date would be for Ohana's character breakfast for your schedule. Ideally, it would be easiest to do it on a MK day to make transportation easier, but you already have two character breakfasts scheduled for those days. Personally, I would pick Ohana over CM's and keep your Crystal Palace, but that's based on my family's taste.

The only advice I have is dissing Cosmic Ray's and Planet Hollywood.

I would choose Peco's Bill instead, the burgers and wraps are great and the atmosphere is so much better. Your kids will love watching the Splash Mountain riders soar down the drop and the waterway carrying the riders afterward. We always sit outside to do this. Plus, the toppings bar is better and Peco's is much less chaotic. We noticed at Cosmic the lack of cleanliness.

Also, PH is much too commercialized for us, not to mention the food is not very good for the steep price. Service is not the best, either. Try Wolfgang Puck Cafe instead for a much better meal. :dance3:

Thank you for all the advice. Sorry, I'm still getting use to abbreviations. We do have the Deluxe Dining Plan.
I was a little concerned about making it to ride TSM and Star Tours. They're two of the few things at HS that they wanted to see (of course they'll change their minds once we get there).
We will not have a rental car with us. If I switched to 7:00 at Chef Mickeys on the morning of Hollywood Studios and moved 'Ohana to 12/2 would that fix it or would it still be pushing it? I know rope drop is important but we don't want to rush the kids.

I would think about making your first nights dinner reservations later. You want to be able to do some touring that day, and eating so early, you won't get much in. If you eat later, you can leave right after dinner, get the kiddos to bed, and up early again the next morning!

I am curious to see what others say since we are car renters when we go to WDW. I would think 7am CM would give you more than enough time to get to rope drop at DHS from Contemporary Resort by bus. From our experience CM takes anywhere between 40-60 minutes. You could always take a cab from CR to DHS too. The only thing about the 7am slot is, it's an early start. To get there from POP century using Disney transportation, I think you'll have to take a bus to MK then take the walkway over to CR. Or, once again, you could always take a cab.

If you're moving Ohana to 12/2, why not keep CM on the original schedule? Or was that a typo and you were thinking about moving it to 12/1?

On your MVMCP day, I would try to get a early dinner reservation at one of the monrail hotels or if possible inside the Magic Kingdom. We went one time and it took two hours to get a bus from Port Orleans to MK. There just wasn't enough buses to transport everyone. Maybe someone else can give an opinion on this.

I wouldn't miss 'Ohana for dinner. They have activities for the kids and great food.

I would try Cape May bfast for DHS day-its really fun character interactions. Goofy, Minnie and Donald are in beach attire. Food is good too. You can take the boat over to DHS for rope drop-make sure to go right to Toy Story and get a fast pass. They go fast!!! :goodvibes
