Opinions on weekdays vs weekends in March 2022

Currently waffling between spending our two days at Disney on Wed/Th vs Fri/Sat (third week of March). We want to catch the fireworks but not sure how much worse the crowds will be on Fri/Sat. Ideally we'd like to spend two nights somewhere else in OC/LA.

That said, I'm also debating a third day, and if we do that, I guess we would spend all our 5 nights in Anaheim. So we could do Wed/Thurs/Fri, and then spend Saturday on a daytrip somewhere else. It's just not ideal as we would like to spend a couple of nights in LA, Laguna, or something along those lines.

But if we stuck to two days, which would you do? Thanks!

Crowds have been pretty crazy on weekends (I was there Nov, Dec, Jan) and the weekdays are noticeably less crowded.

I would do 3 days and take your time. Also, if you start your day at DCA you can get a ton done before 11 am and then worry about riding RSR (Pay the LL) or wait 70+ min.

Thank you, Zurezo. This is very helpful to hear. It's not necessarily what I had in mind, but at least we have the flexibility to move things around right now.

I didn't feel like weekend crowds in January were that bad. I'm someone who really cares about fireworks and specifically go on Fridays to Sundays rather than weekdays to see them. That said, crowds in March tend to be a bit higher than January due to it being Spring Break for some schools.

It's really hard to give much advice without knowing how much you care about other potential things you'd do in the area and if you plan to purchase park hoppers. 2 days can feel a bit short for some people but some people don't feel like they're getting as much value out of 3 days because they're already tired from 2 days in the parks and want to take the third day slower.

I go a lot on both weekdays and weekends. I don’t think weekends are that much more crowded although if a food festival is going on more people might go for that. I think the nighttime entertainment and longer hours make weekends worth it. And sometimes weekdays are just packed. It’s so surprising to me to see so many school age kids at DL on a weekday!

I appreciate your perspectives! We are definitely going to do the park hoppers. And we're staying very close to the park. I'm just not sure I was envisioning our SoCal trip as a Disney-focused trip, but maybe a day/night might be enough somewhere else.

Our child is 7 by the way, and we'll be coming from spending a few days in the Bay Area...so the trip won't be entirely focused on Disney in that sense. He is very into Star Wars.

He's actually begging to go to Legoland (says he'd prefer to go there than Disney), but we can do Legoland in FL from here (DC). We can try to do that later this year or early next year over a quick weekend trip. We know he'll love DLR once he sees it.
