Opinions on The World of Avatar?

Not much of a rumor, but I couldn't think of a better category for this. I want to know peoples opinions on Disney's The World of Avatar. It sounds like fun, but I can't help wonder why Disney decided to build a section of the park themed around ... Avatar. Avatar is in no way relevant right now and the Avatar fandom isn't really at it's biggest, if there even is an Avatar fandom. With all of Disney's original material and IP's, why Avatar? Personally I would have liked to see the planned but never made Beastly Kingdom as an expansion of the park. What are y'all's opinions?

The land had been open for over a year now. No going back at this point.

Avatar land is great... not sure if we will ever see those sequels which are still being worked on supposedly. Disney has tons of ip to choose from now... there is less need to craft unique things for the parks... but you never know Disney has certainly had ip slumps in the past which have led to some great unique in-park attractions. (space mtn, thunder mtn, Everest, SSE, etc.) Just remember, Great ideas never completely go away at Disney. It might be Decades in the future but there is plenty of expansion space at AK...we will likely never get exactly what was planned, but I can see them incorporating some sort of dragon’s castle element in the future.

The Pandora section is great. It's an area that can be loved by those who have seen the movie and those who haven't.

As to why they built it..it's the highest grossing movie of all time, the following sequels will be box office smashes, and it's a good movie.
