Opinions on the best CD to buy

I want to purchase a disney world CD (like TOD or parade music) but don't know which ones are the best or even where to purchase them.....please send me in the right direction!

I recently bought volumes 1 & 2 of Disney's Greatest Hits; they aren't parade music but have an awesome selection of songs from old and new disney movies. The sell them at the parks for something like $18 each, but I got both CDs from amazon.com for $23, and as soon as volume 3 gets a little cheaper, I'll get that one too.

Amazon has a great price on the five CD set. We listen to these all the time.

I've started recording the feed from the Disney stations on Live365 radio. www.live365.com I like the Mouseworld Radio and the Magic Trips stations. Anyway...you have to download a recorder (I got mine from totalrecorder.com for $11.95) but then you can make your own CDs. The stations play all kinds of park music that you can't get on CD. I'm having a ball with it.

We have an older compilation of songs from the rides (pre AK, possibly pre MGM) that is really special to us because it has songs from alot of the rides of that time, some of which have been changed or are no longer there. So listening to that kind of compilation realy transports us to the parks when we're home.

We also have the CD with the Illuminations & ToD music on it - again, it just transports me back to the parks when I listen to it. I'd say buy something that reminds you of your favorite memories, or if you haven't been yet, of music for some of the rides or events you are most looking forward to seeing.

I bought the Illuminations CD a short time ago (when I found out the Tapestry of Nations was being discontinued) from a website called Mouseshoppe (I think). I also buy any CD's I find at the parks, especially the parades. I'll throw on the Main Street Electrical Parade music when my brother comes over and it always cracks him up.

My absolute favorites are the AnimaL Kingdom CD I have and the 100 years of magic parades CD.

My favorite is the WDW Resort Official Album from 2000. It has the full Splash Mt. medley, which is a favorite of mine, and 20 other songs. Epcot's Illuminations/Tapestry of Nations is also quite good, if you found Tapestry of Nations as moving as I did. It was previously titled Millenium Celebration. I also have the AK CD-Music from Disney's AK Park. It's instrumental. Alot of soothing/calming music and sounds.
