Opinions on taking a cab vs. the mears ticket/transfer package to US?

Hey everyone! We've decided to visit US for one day on our upcoming Disney trip in September. I'm looking for opinions on the best option to get from Disney's Coronado Springs to Universal. I'm going back and forth between taking a cab or booking the package that includes US tickets and transportation from Mears. Based on my research, the price difference isn't a huge difference (I think around $50 provided that the cab price is close to the given estimate) but obviously, with a cab you have the freedom to depart on your time. So...does anyone have any preference between the two? Have you used the package deal with success? We're planning on leaving fairly early from CS - around 7:30 on a Wednesday and not leaving US until late (probably around 10). All opinions are welcome so please share away!
