DH and I are not really big on fast food, so we plan to eat mostly at sit-down restaurants. We'll do one big meal a day, and then perhaps just appetizers for the others.
On our past single-day trips, we've done Blue Lagoon for lunch and Auberge de Cendrillon for dinner. We love them both, so we'll probably go back.

Anyways, if any of you have been to these, please let me know what you thought! Here are the new ones we're considering:
California Grill (dinner)
Inventions (dinner)
Walt's (lunch)
Plaza Gardens (lunch)

Is Auberge de Cendrillon still just cold dishes for lunch?

Plus, are there any NOT on the list that should be there? We are very flexible, suggestions are welcome!

On our last day, we want to have a really nice lunch. Nice for fond memories, as it will be the end of our trip, and it's going to be our last vacation for a while, most likely. :guilty: And good food, since we'll be heading off on an 8-hour flight that afternoon. :) What would you choose?

Thanks again!!! ::MinnieMo Of all the DIS boards, the people here are the best!

For your last day lunch, I would pick Walt's. It is truly exceptional with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent service.

There are a variety of different themed rooms, be sure to request a table overlooking Main Street USA - it's magical! The food is good too, and the bread selection they bring you whilst you are waiting for your food is absolutley *delicious*

We have many fond memories from sitting in Walt's enjoying fine wine and food and just relaxing whilst looking out over Main Street......oh, to be there now!

We have also been to Inventions for dinner. They operate a buffet system and I thought it was excellent value for money and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Also, we have been to California Grill for dinner and in my opinion, it serves the most wonderful food in all of DLRP. The wine is amazing too.

I'd recommend Walt's, to me, the best restaurant within Disneyland Park. The food is very good, staff is excellent, and the atmosphere is great!

I've never been to the 2 Disneyland Hotel restaurants, but I've never heard any bad reviews, si I guess they are OK :smooth: !

Last February, Auberge de Cendrillon was a full menu (hot) but I don't know if it has changed since then?

If you like seafood I thoroughly recommend the Blue Lagoon. It is situated next to POC and is very atmospheric - and the food is great! If you aren't seafood lovers there are other things on the menu but this would cut down your choices a lot.

Hmmm, I had never realized that Walt's would be so nice. I think when I read its official description ("an American restaurant"), I was picturing a place that served hot dogs and hamburgers. I think we'll go there early on in our stay and then go again on our last day if we really love it.

Thanks all! I love all of your opinions! ::MinnieMo

Have only been there for character breakfast, but kids enjoyed the restaurant.

I would recommend the Steakhouse in Disney Village. It's a Michelin star restaurant and the food is truly excellent. I remember, for dessert, having a chilled pear soup with gingerbread croutons - delicious!

During "Magic Unlimited" (which is now until I think the end of March if I'm not mistaken) the Auberge has an all you can eat buffet. I was there in the late afternoon and ordered just the desert buffet, but I peaked at the regular buffet (and in fact someone I was with ordered it) and it looked wonderful! Lots of hot items - the salmon was reported to be great.
Bon apetit!

Went to Walts with a 4 year old and a 2 year old, They have a special pudding for kids which is a jigsaw made out of white chocolate and they put it together then paint it with dark chocolate and red and yellow something. Mine loved it and it fully occupied them whilst we enjoyed out more adult puds

We were there this week (sigh) ::MickeyMo and had a fantastic meal one evening in the Silver Spur in Frontierland. Obviously steaks are their speciality but they have plenty of other things to choose from as well. They also do the whilte chocolate Mickey jigsaw dessert for children. It has the advantage of being close to Big Thunder Mountain - as our 12 year old son finished his meal before us he went on BTM three times while we enjoyed our desserts.
I would agree with the recommendation for the Blue Lagoon - we tried that as well. The food was delicious and our children went on Pirates of the Caribbean during dessert this time!

We're just back and we ate at a few of the restaurants mentioned. We had lunch at the blue lagoon, which I found to be so-so...the service was a little slow and the food nothing special. We had dinner at the steakhouse in Disney village and it was pretty good...nice large menu selection and a great atmosphere (ask to be seated in the main dining room...we were exiled to the conservatory which felt a little 'cafe-like').

My favourite of all was the California grill. Excellent, excellent food, great service and a lovely ambience. They treated the kids royally (let my two share one menu enfant but brought two desserts)....I must say it was one of the best meals I've eaten. Be warned, it's pricey....we stuck to the 47 euro dinner menu which was great value for the food and ingredients (foie gras, veal).
