Hi all!

First time cruiser...booked our family of four on a 5-day Bahamas cruise out of Miami in 2018. Learned today that Marvel at Sea is now offered in the west Caribbean cruise 5 days earlier. Our sons (7 and 3) would love it I think. We are already at our budget, so my questions are:

- If we don't switch, will they still see Superheros?
- Is Grand Cayman a better option than Key West / Nassau ?
- Right now we booked a Deck 1 ocean view with two small portholes. If I switch cruises, I can save by booking a Deck 5 sideways (inside) room... what do people think about the sideways layout? They seem to have good reviews.

I really appreciate ANY feedback to help me make a decision...thanks!!

Switch!!!!

We were just on the Disney Magic in December on an eastern caribbean cruise and it was a week where Captain America "was on a mission." We were absolutely gutted as having him for meet and greet and for Avengers Training was supposed to be the highlight. No other superheroes were available either so no superheroes for us. Sooooo disappointing when we have 2 boys.

We love Grand Cayman more than Key West and Nassau for sure. It's a beautiful island and we have used Captain Marvins to go to Stingray City and snorkelling which was great fun and one of the best excursions we have ever done! Seven Mile Beach is also beautiful. This was on a previous cruise in 2014.

We were also on a Deck 5 midship sideways room this past december too and it was great! We really enjoyed it and have stayed in concierge suites and verandah rooms in the past. The location was really good after the nightly shows - straight up the stairs two short flights from right outside the theatre to get back to our room after a very tired day. Perfect for our kids! We also liked being on same deck as kids club and movie theatre. Only drawback was it was a longer trek to get drinks at the aft of the ship but definitely not a dealbreaker.

I soooooo want to book a Marvel Day at Sea cruise but am already on the Fantasy for Star Wars Day at Sea in January but we are totally going to book that next!! The Dr. Strange show and all the superhero activities sound AMAZING.

Yes. Cayman Islands are better than Nassau / Key West. IMO

Sideways inside cabins are awesome.

Two small porthole rooms are overrated compared to sideways insides IMO.

Great research.

And Welcome to the Disboards.

Great to hear you switched! We had a sideways cabin for our cruise in 2015 and loved it!!! Felt so much more spacious and roomy!
