I am debating whether or not to book here for our next trip. Anyone want to share their experiences?

Went there for lunch last trip as a walk in, it was ok.
Nothing special, nothing terrible. Actually thought it was a little bland.
It seems you never need an ADR for this place they always have same day available.

This is one of our favorites. We tried to do a walk up our last trip Dec 5-14 but were turned away both times. I would get an ADR just to be sure.

I think your opinion of the restaurant may likely be influenced by whatever previous experience you have with the cuisine. DH and I dine periodically at various Persian, Afghan, and Mediterranean restaurants and found Marrakesh to be just okay. My parents were with us during that trip and they really liked the food, but they had pretty much no previous experience.

It has been a bit since we have eaten there, but DW and I enjoyed it. We each got a sampler (different ones) and traded foods. I would say the food will not make your taste buds go crazy but it is interesting because it is different (unless you eat their food all the time). Just a way to try different things. We haven't gone of late just to try different places.

I went in 2007 and loved it. I had a lamb dish that was so good. Of course like a pp said, it depends on what you are used to. Where I live you can get pizza and steak at a restaurant, so I don't have a point of reference. I can say the service was excellent as were the musicians.

We love Marrakesh. Love the food, love the atmosphere. It's one of our must-dos, every trip.

We too love Marrakessh. It is a must do for us each trip.
It is a beautiful restaurant, the service is warm and friendly and the food is very good. We do not have a restaurant like this near us at home, so it is a treat. We also enjoy the entertainment and the Belly Dancer. I would recommend this and encourage you to make an ADR.
Have a Great Trip.

I picked it for us to go in November 2008 - to try something different.

The resteraunt is beautiful. And the music & belly dancing were very enjoyable. At one point the dancer came and took both my DDs hand and led them to the dance floor to teach them to dance. They both enjoyed it.

It was not our favorite meal of our trip, however - I'm very glad we went. It was a nice experience and we did enjoy ourselves. My DH got a seafood sampler type meal and polished off his plate. He said the seasoned olives were out of this world. I had gotten a chicken bastilla appetizer and didn't care for it. However, the chicken kabobs I got were very good. Tender & seasoned well. The people at the next table got the haira soup & lamb, and they smelled incredible. I have never eaten lamb, but found myself wishing I had ordered it based on the aroma.

Our ADRs were for 4:45, but we walked over at 3:30 and they were able to take us early. The place was pretty empty. However, when we were leaving at about 5:30 (the belly dancing started at 5:00 so the waitress invited us to linger to watch), it was filling up. So whether or not you can get in without ADRs would probably depend a lot on the time you go.

The room is spectacular. The entertainment is a nice touch. If you have good authentic N. African/Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, then you'll find it "average", but it's not bad. The food is not at all scary, spicy, or "weird."

It's definitely a place that I enjoy, and it's also easier than average to get a last-minute ADR there, which is nice.

We were there last week and it was one of our favorite meals. The hummus is, quite honestly, inferior to what I could buy at a grocery store, but everything else was wonderful. One of our party had a beef dish that included raisins and caramelized onions, I believe it was served over couscous - I tried to get the recipe (they sell a cookbook there) but it's too new to be included in the cookbook. The waiter said it was a traditional dish and we should be able to find the recipe, but I don't remember what it was called and it's not listed on the menu at All Ears. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

We loved it here.Yeah a little less spicy than Morroccan food usually is..but a must do for us.

Exactly!! It's my fav for the food, atmosphere, entertainment and service!

This was the first restaurant we went to on our honeymoon and, boy, am I glad we chose it! The service was among the best we had at WDW. The building itself is visually stunning. The entertainment is so much fun. (Be sure to make your ADR in time to take it in.) And the food was honestly quite good. We are quite familiar with Med. cuisine and we enjoyed our meal here. They do tone down the spices a bit but it's still very tasty. I would wholeheartedly recommend a meal here.

I would never do it again. I do actually like ethnic food, having eaten at a few moroccan and india cuisine restaurants in the past (including one in the real Morocco). We ate there last year as part of the Candlelight Processional Package.

Food was very bland, at best just okay. Service was slow, and pretty terrible. Case in point my husband gashed his leg on a screw pocking out of a chair leg, to the point that it was bleeding pretty badly. What did we get? Sorry. (I am sure I will get a what did you expect comment about that, I am sorry if blood is running down someone's leg because of something wrong in your restaurant you better do something better then say I'm sorry)

Same trip we ate at the Germany pavilion which was wonderful!

Oh Marrakesh....this has been a fav and deal breaker restaurant of mine for the past 3 years. We ate their last Friday though and it was just pretty good, not as wonderful as I recalled. My only true complaint was that the beef kabob that I always get did not have the tomatoes, onions, or peppers with it as it had in years past. It was just the beef. Ho Hum...a very mild complaint, indeed. However, the servers were good, the music and dancing was contagiously festive and fun, and everyone looked to be enjoying themselves. A good restaurant to at least try. :thumbsup2

We at lunch at Restaurant Marrakesh last Sunday with a 2:45 ADR. Granted that's near the end of lunch service. There was no belly dancing since it was lunch time and off hours. It was not at all crowded and a very peaceful respite. I found the service friendly and helpful and the food was tasty. It wasn't gourmet but it was nicely presented, plentiful and the quiet was a premium.

I enjoyed the option to have a nice salad with feta for my appetizer and grilled chicken kebobs for my entree and a fresh fruit with a small scoop of ice cream for dessert. It was nice to have something lighter. DH and DS had a seafood brewat roll and DD had a beef roll and they were OK but I think the fried foods is a little heavy for touring. The boys had a sultan's sampler each and DD had lamb. Our thoughts were "We wouldn't always do this at home so what the heck and if we don't like it then there's another option every 15 feet around the World Showcase." We left sated and happy.

One other note: I don't let eating at this, or that restaurant, make or break my vacation. I let the time I spend with my family and the fun we have make the memories. We had fun here but we'll probably try something else next time.

Thanks for all the replies. I think we will give it a try for dinner, I will make sure our ressie is late enough to get to enjoy the entertainment.
