Any opinions on the 'Plaza' in MK?

We have BBB at 3:50 on the Tuesday night of MNVSHP. So we needed to eat somewhere in MK inbetween those 2..the only TS available was Plaza. We're on free dining and between CRT, and other dinners, we are running a little short on TS credits. I don't mind paying OOP at all since I was planning to when I booked because I had never heard of free dining until the CM told me about it, but I still have to use up CS credits.

So, my question is between BBB and MNVSHP, is Plaza yummy or is there a good CS restaurant we can eat there instead just to burn through the CS credits?

Thanks in advance..you all have been so helpful.

We haven't been to the Plaza yet, but we're eating there before MVMCP (Christmas party) in November. I've read a lot of good about it, hopefully someone will post that can tell you they found. They mostly have sandwiches, but they also have ice cream, that is supposed to be really good!

There are plenty of counter service places around, but none stick out to me that would be any better. However, if you're running low on TS credits, I'd probably go with a counter service. There is Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland, they have chicken, ribs, and burgers. Unless they've changed the menu, they had a rotissere chicken & ribs combo that came with mashed potatoes and a vegetable; not a bad deal! That's the one that sticks out for me, we haven't tried others at MK though.

Personally I adore the Plaza! It's nice and cozy and very pretty inside and the food is great! Especially the hot fudge sundaes! When I asked for extra hot fidge they brought me a gravy boat of it! Oh! And I ate all of it! This was in Sept. 2007 on the free DDP. It's nothing fancy mind you, but it's good! Or at least IMHO! :thumbsup2

We really like the Plaza. They have generous portions and the food is really good. :goodvibes

My DH and I fell in love with The Plaza when we stopped in one year and have been back every year since. A lot of people will say it is not worth it on the Dining Plan because you are not getting enough bang for your buck, but we use a ts on it anyway--we love it. It is a change of pace from all the "heavy" meals we eat on the dining plan, and enjoy a very good burger, reuben, club sandwich with a yummy chocolate shake and a hot fudge sundae for dessert. The portions are huge., It is a charming place. Service can be a little slow at times, but we usually make an adr and get lucky and can see the castle show from inside the air conditioned restaurant.

We love the Plaza. We've been there twice and have a lunch ADR during free dining. They have great hamburgers, sandwiches, and wonderful ice cream! I love the brownie sundae! The restaurant is cute, too.

Plus, we had a great experience there when we asked for a different meal for DS. We asked them if they had a fruit plate for his appetizer instead of the carrots or salad- they brought out a HUGE plate of fruit- enough for his lunch. They get two thumbs up from us:thumbsup2

It's funny because we don't hear much about plaza, but the thing is, it is one of our favorite lunch places in WDW. I am sure it would also make a great dinner choice if you'r not looking for anything too fancy.

My favorite is the turkey sandwich. It is on this great bread, and the german potato salad is awesome.

I can't say much about the dinng plan because we don't use it, but I don't think you would be disappointed with this place.

If I could I recommend looking up AllEarsNet.com for reviews, I think you'll find exactly what your looking for. I trust them for reviews for the most part, of course your getting a lot of great reviews right here too! :lovestruc

I forgot to tell you that I loved eating table service at the Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square, it's really close to the Haunted Mansion for reference of location, they have good choices, and you can eat upstairs and over look Fantasy land or Liberty Square, if your close to a window that is. It's also a nice place to get away from the loud crowds, the upstairs is usually not as crowded and loud as downstairs. I know someone else mentioned Cosmic Rays as another good choice for CS, I would second that, they have good choices, but it's usually pretty crowded and loud, but you can save money eating your CS instead of paying out of pocket for a TS this way.

I love the Plaza...love the tomato soup and their potato salad!

We ate there a very long time ago, over 10 years, and I remember it as good. We are going to try lunch there in Oct....that cheesesteak sandwich is calling DH's name!
