Hi everyone. September will be my family's 3rd visit to the World and we've not eaten at Pinocchio Village Haus yet. Has anyone had their cheese steaks? My DH LOVES cheese steaks, and wondered if they were any good here.

Also, I'm considering Columbia Harbor House as well. I don't like to eat hot food when its hot out, so how are their cold offerings? The menu that I saw on allears looked intriguing to me. Thank you very much.

We always eat at CHH when we're in the MK. If you like tune salad on sourdough they have an excellent one. Hope this helps.

We used to eat at Pinocchio's Village Haus back when it was a burger and fries joint. Something about having a greasy burger there really reminded me of childhood trips to Disney with my grandparents. Unfortunately, we haven't eaten there since the menu change, because of the menu change...it's just not the same, although I would like to hear a review of the place. We just might try it out again if the cheesesteaks are really good...

We ate at Columbia Harbour House and thought it was nice - a lot of seating - which is always good.

I had a tasty salad and my DH ate a cold sandwhich - I thin it had lunch meat on it (maybe ham?) I think he liked it too.

We were on the DDP ---- I was happy because we were able to get a yogurt as our dessert, instead of the cakes. (Many places let us do this, so we were pleased).

We like to save our dessert for our table service meals!

:-)

We aren't on the DDP this time (missed free dining as this is sort of a last minute trip), but we have been the last 2 times we went. Dessert twice a day is just excessive. I just lost 52 lbs, and I don't intend to put it all back on again. LOL.

Haven't had the Cheese Steak at Pinocchio's but the Italian Sub Sandwich was good, along with the Figaro Fries. At Columbia Harbour House we like both the Starboard Deck and Lighthouse sandwiches. And yes, its especially nice there if you sit upstairs where its rarely crowded and you have a view of Fantasyland and Liberty Square.

Oh, yes, the tuna sandwich at CCH was really good. But, what I really look forward to at CHH is the sweet iced tea. To the best of my knowledge, this is the ONLY restaurant in WDW that serves sweet iced tea, which I think is the best thing ever on a really hot day. Cook's of Dublin, the fast-food fish place next to Raglan Road at DTD, also has sweet iced tea, but when I had it there last spring it wasn't quite as good as the tea at CHH.

When you say they are the only ones that have sweet tea (sorry I'm a northerner), do you mean that the other restaurants only have the unsweetened variety or they only have that horrible kind that isn't freshly brewed?

No opinions on the cheese steaks anyone?

I haven't been to Pinocchio's in forever and can't even remember what I had. So I'm no help there.

But we did eat at Columbia last year. It was the last day of our trip and I was starting to come down with a cold...you know, that scratchy throat feeling. I almost never order tuna when I'm out somewhere, but that was the only thing that looked the least bit appealing to me given how I was feeling. It was the best tuna sandwich I've ever had and I'm so glad I tried it.

I always get the Panini <SP?> I can't imagine getting a cheesesteak anywhere outside of where I live Philly area :confused3 ....so I would never ever try it.

i absolutely love columbia harbour house. i always get the half lighthouse sandwich (hummus & broccoli slaw w/tomato on multi grain, yum!) and bowl of vegetarian chili. yes, even last week when it was in the 90s, i had hot chili cause i love it so much! my mom had the tuna and said it was very good as well.

:goodvibes The Tuna sandwich at CHH is off the chain! I'm talking really good.

There is this sandwich at PVH with roasted peppers on it grilled on multi grain bread, , very good. The figero fries are a must try at least once. We liked them.:)

CHH is awesome. We always find ourselves doing counter service there. I have had the tuna salad a few times and it is really yummy!

The tuna at CHH sounds PERFECT. A nice cold sandwich on a hot day is just what the doctor ordered.

I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't eat cheese (except on pizza), so the Figaro fries are out for me. Which reminds me - how's the pizza at Pinocchio's?

Love them both!

I especially love the Figaro Fries! The people at my local Sonic get annoyed, though, when I return from WDW and order my fries with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and bacon! :rolleyes1

We ate there with 2 kids...they did not like the pizza nor did DH and I but the sandwiches were good so we shared those (they are large) and the figaro fries are out of this world.

I have been wanting to try Columbia House for a while but DH gets sick at the smell of tuna (which is my fav) so we never went

DH and I ate at PVH on our last trip. The pizzas were pretty tasty. Plus the theming inside PVH is really cool. The only thing I was dissapointed with was the side salad that came with my pizza. The salad consisted of 2 lettuce leaves and one olive! Basically it was one bite of salad! Needless to say, I didn't use the whole packet of salad dressing that came with it. :lmao:

I only tried the clam chowder at CHH and being from New England, it just didn't measure up.
PVH wasn't too memorable but we might try it again next time if only to get a table overlooking IASW for ds :)
