Opinions on PBH

We have reservations for the PBH in early Dec. I have no idea what this hotel is like. (If we don't stay here we'll go to the Marriott Grande Vista). We are two adults one older child. Has anyone stayed here, how did you like it?

I think that you will love it. The hotel is beautiful and it is just a short boat ride from the parks. Have a blast!!!

You will love it! We stay there every chance we get. Take the time to visit the spa you will love the rooms!

My family has stayed here twice during that same time frame. How long and will you be staying and will you be visiting the Universal/IOA parks? If yes than YES stay at Portofino over Marriott (for the perks of on-site alone).

We keep comming back to PBH because of its charm and beauty.During the Holidays it is beautiful. They also have had some special holiday happenings in the past that I hope they repeat again this year. How old is your child? If a teenager they may prefer the Hard Rock next door, but you can always visit and enjoy their pool also.

On Expedia.com they are offering buy 3 days get the 4th free. You may want to check into that its a very good deal. (at portofino)

The dining options are very satisfiying and varied also. They offer character meals a couple times a week. Italian food and standard continental fare along with a gourmet restaurant and a nice family style restaurant. Sal's Deli and a poolside bar/cafe that we had some great tropical drinks at with burgers one day by the pool.

We have always been lucky weather wise and swim in December. The pool is heated and they also have hot tubs! The pool area is very pretty and we love the slide they offer.

Thank you all for responding. Our son is 11yrs. and we are going to Universal. It is because of the Expedia promotion we booked. Thanks again, I'm always nervous about staying someplace new.

When you check in let star service make your ressies at Mama Della's it's wonderful! Upscale but not uptight and will not break your budget but will fill your tummy! Best Ceasar Salad I've ever had!

Also at Mama Della's is a delicious tamarisu (sp?) and marshmallow milkshake!

I'm sure you'll enjoy PBH. It beautiful, plush and quiet but not stuffy. The service is very, very good.

You will love Portofino Bay. We stayed there over Labor Day Weekend and loved it (including our 15 year old son). The pools are great, the grounds are lovely, the rooms are big and beautiful. You can't go wrong here - you will love it!!
