Opinions on Palio

We have tentatively decided to eat at Palio on Christmas Day. Who has eaten there and what did you think of it?

We have eaten there once, and thought it was excellent Italian food. The prices are a bit high, but we had either an a/p or DVC discount (20% I recall) , and that made it, IMHO, a good value for the quality of food we received.

LOL! From a plain/picky eater that would have been my first choice and I was hoping they would have it (I know it was on the kids menu) ,but they didnt. I did find my choices were limited as I am picky, but I was still able to find something that was very good.

Great restaurant and good value with the 20% discount. The staff is friendly. I've been there in the past when they had a strolling violinist playing. This restaurant never seems to be crowded. I like this much better than Alfredo's.

What 20% discount are you refering to?

The 20% discount is for Disney Vacation Club members; you need to show your membership card. See http://allearsnet.com/acc/dvc.htm

Presumably this discount is offered to draw guests from the nearby DVC resorts Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club Villas.

I would not recommend joining DVC to get this discount.

We had a fantastic meal there a few years back. We were a little concerned because -- at the last minute -- our cousins decided to bring their 3-year-old. The restaurant in our opinion is a little quiet and fancy for a child that young, but the waiter was fantatic with him and kept the him eating and playing so we could enjoy. We'll go back again one of these days -- we just have too many other favorites!
