Hi, I'm just starting to look at places to make ADR's for a trip in Feb. These are the 3 places I have chosen at this point. My DD will be 3.5 when we go and these characters are the ones she is most familar with. Any input good or bad would be greatly appreciated.

Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
1900 Park Fare

TIA :goodvibes[/COLOR]

Good choices, although I would suggest breakfast at Chef Mickeys, as we were not impressed with dinner at all- the place was dirty and the food was not good- the characters were cute though. Some people love it for dinner, so maybe we hit a bad day. If you are doing any breakfasts, take into account any time changes. We quickly discovered on DD's first trip when she was 2, that pre-park breakfasts would not work at all for her, even with just a one hour time change. She is not a morning person by nature. If it is in the budget, I would highly reccommend a meal at CRT (the castle) or Akershus to see multiple princesses. If your daughter isn't a princess addict before that meal, she probably will be by the time it is through! Since eating at Akershus when she was 2, my DD has been all Princess all the time. (She is 5 now). I would pick CRT if you can as there is just something special about eating in the castle, and they give the girls a wand and wishing star. Another great place for that age is Biergarten. They have a German Band that plays and a dance floor where the kids can get out and dance during the show.

See if you can get into the Crystal Palace early 8AM on your Magic Kingdom day (or Cinderalla's Royal Table if you so choose), that way you are ahead of the crowds when the park opens! We are doing CRT.
Chef Mickey's will be good for breakfast!

Thanks for your replies. I have thought about CRT but am still on the fence. If I did this would it be safe to cross off 1900 fare? She really likes Cinderella at this point and is aware of the other princesses but does not know them as well. Not sure how much that will change before Feb. We are not huge morning people and there will be an hour time change for us, so not sure if breakfast will work, does anybody know when the last seating is for breakfast at Chef Mickeys? Thanks again for everybodys help.

Chef Mickeys has the worst food on Disney property. Just my humble opinion, but many other will confirm this. The other two are great. As far as 1900 park fare... The sisters, prince and step mother are there as well. I would keep it.

I didn't think it was that bad. It may not be first on our list for Disney buffets, but I would still recommend it for anyone who wants to meet all the fab five for autographs and/or pictures without having to line up for them one by one. When you look at it that way it throws a new slant on things.

It is like any Disney restaurant which gets its good and bad reviews based on expectations, previous experiences at other buffets and a whole host of factors. I wouldn't just dismiss it. Oddly enough, my DD rated it as one of her favorites. Kids don't rate restaurants the same way we do so it depends why you want to eat there.

I think your choices are very appropriate, given the age of your DD. Whatever you decide, enjoy it! :goodvibes

We liked Chef Mickey's for both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was alot quieter and made a great start to the day. Dinner was crazier with alot of melt downs and it got loud in there. The food was ok but not great. If I was to go there again I would choose breakfast.

We enjoyed the 1900 PF Cindy dinner. The Step Sisters and Lady Tremaine were a hoot. My DD didn't know what to think. It was also great to see Cindy dance with her Prince. The food was good. It's on the top of my list and can't wait to return.

We haven't done CRT but we did do Akershus and it was my DD's favorite. We did breakfast and IMHO the food was lacking. The potatoes were amazing. If that and the sausage was all they brought me i'd be a happy camper. It's a good way to see the princesses without waiting in line at the parks.

I'm going to put CRT on my list of maybe's and see what happens. Is two character meals too much in one day? I think I will still plan on Chef Mickey's if for no other reason then the characters as a pp stated. Would be super nice to get the Fab 5 all at once without waiting in line. Thanks again for all the advice.:goodvibes

Love Crystal Palace for breakfast; Chef Mickey's is good for breakfast but would not go back for dinner; have never done 1900 Park Fare. I will say that after two horrible meals at Hollywood & Vine and Chef Mickey's, we no longer do buffets for anything but breakfast (not much you can do to ruin breakfast).

Just me - I would get rid of 1900 Park Fare and put either Cindys Royal Table or Akershus in its place. CRT is 2 credits, while Akershus is only one.

And as far as Chef Mickeys - I'd do either breakfast or dinner for that one. We have done both, and enjoyed both. As long as you don't go into ANY of the character meals thinking its going to be gourmet, you'll be just fine. Its more about the experience for you and your children than the food in these places, and for me, thats just fine! Have a great trip!!!

We really enjoyed 1900 Park Fare last summer-Cinderella dances with Prince Charming and the step-sisters are sooo funny!! I didn't think the food was great but I think we were there on an off night. They seemed to not have everything out-we were an early ADR :confused3 Would definitely go again...

Crystal Palace for bfast is one of our fav's and we love Cape May for bfast (character interaction is great here) and dinner. Trying Tusker House on our next trip. Chef Mickey's is fun for the characters-I would definitely go for bfast and not dinner :goodvibes

Just so you know, 1900 only has Cinderella at dinner. Breakfast, which I preferred, has Mary Poppins, Alice, the Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger.

Also, I am a recovering picky eater but I looked at the Ankershus menus for lunch and dinner and they were both no ways for me. We haven't gone there yet but we chose breakfast. And, this is just my opinion, but I love the fact that it's in the castle (CRT that is). I always grew up loving that castle so it was a big deal when I got to eat there last year at the ripe old age of 35.

Gosh, it's a good thing I have a month or two before I can start making my ADRs! Sooo many choices. I appreciate everyone's input. I am def. going into all of our character dining experiences thinking it's for my DD and DS to see the characters and if the food is good/great then that's just the cherry on top. :) I do think I will be doing CRT if I can get a good ressie time. How can I pass up the opportunity to let my kiddos eat in THE castle?

Agreed. We found CMs food terrible and the buffet was filthy. :scared1:

I agree. Chef Mickeys food is horrible. I had their breakfast, and I wasnt impressed at all. The food quality was crap, it wasnt even kept warm! I wouldnt go back....characters were the ONLY good thing. (and yes, I too did think to myself "its kinda hard to screw up breakfast...how bad can it be?". Well it was bad!).

1900 PF characters are AMAZING!!! The step sisters are HILARIOUS! I had such a fun and wonderful experience here. I must say though, I didnt like the food at all. They had a very limited selection....nothing like the menu indicates. I was disappointed. But I will say that with the 2-3 items i did enjoy, it was quite tasty! I think this is a must do at least once. Your daughter will love the characters. :thumbsup2

I love Crystal Palace. Never had a bad experience. LOVE their food! characters are amazing.

Agree with everyone here, CM is a big no no for us, even my 4yo don"t want to go back.

We really liked 1900 PF for dinner and my girls got to dance with the Prince. It is a buffet but the food is good, hot and lots of choice. The step sisters and lady Tremaine are soo funny.

CP is a must on our MK day before rope drop. Never had a bad experience there.

We really like Tusker House and Ohana for breakfast. You might want to check those out. As for eating in the castle, it's fun, the food is good but expensive. It's something that every little girl have to do once.

Wow, CM's is not a popular place, huh? Will have to decide if it's worth the visit. I know my DD would love the characters, and as I pp the character meals to me are for her and my DS to get autographs/pics and little interaction with the characters, not so much about the food. Though if it's going to be super aweful I'm not sure it's going to be worth the money. Again, glad I have some time to think about it. On another note, def. think I'm going to do CRT and breakfast at Akershus (did I spell that right??). I do have a few months to change my mind though, so keep the input coming, I love it. :goodvibes
