Does anyone have an opinion as to whether Mondays are typically more crowded in the MK than other days of the week (except maybe Saturday)? Just a typical Monday, not a holiday, no special events...
Not a matter of opinion. Monday's are, statistically, more crowded.
The common rationale is that people arrive on Saturdays and Sundays and like to start vacation at Magic Kingdom.
The Monday at MK on our October trip was the only busy park day we experienced (we didn't go to any park on Saturday or Sunday). Having said that, it was Halloween party time and that was the one night that worked where MK didn't close at 7pm and had the electrical parade so it was worth it for us. What time of year are you going? If busy season and you have the option of another night, then maybe avoid it. If its not busy season and you prefer Monday then go.
I'm going the last week of September and I'm trying to decide if I should go to MK on Thursday 24th or Monday 28th. I've looked at several crowd calendars and have gotten conflicting info. Some say go the Thursday, some say the Monday.
Can any experienced folks chime in on which I should do?
I'm doing AK on a Monday for my trip in September, but it's supposed to be less crowded due to EMHs at HS and, coming off 2 Night of Joy nights, MK will be popular for Wishes and MSEP. But normally, I tend to go with a Sunday or Tuesday for AK.

We go early September and usually do MK on a Tuesday. I think Monday will be more crowded with the reasoning that the PP mentioned. Most people make that their first day to visit and they typically check in on Saturday and Sunday. Do you have park hoppers? You could do MK in the AM with the EMH on Thursday and then hop to a better, less crowded park.
I've found Tuesday and Wednesday to be the least crowded days. However, we usually do rope drop and knock out most of MK by 12-1pm so day of the week doesn't tend to affect us much. The early bird wins every time.
We went to MK on Tuesday/Thursday in late September and the crowds were manageable. Our last park day ended up being a Monday, so we went back to MK and the crowds were horrible compared to the other days. We were surprised how noticeable the difference was.
No. I don't have park hopper. I won't be there for a Tuesday so that isn't an option. I'll be spending a few days at Universal too so Thursday or Monday are my only options for MK.

Personally, I would still do the Thursday. Don't know ages of everyone in your party, but I would most likely do EMH (if you're staying onsite) and stay till it starts getting too crowded then leave for the day. If we wanted to stay for evening activites, we would make sure to get later Fastpasses (maybe even one for Wishes) and then hang around after the mass exodus before we headed back to the resort. I think you'll be fine with a good plan! Good luck!
Yeah, traditionally Mondays are supposed to be the worst. We are still going to be there on Monday next week anyway. I guess we are the statistic, since we're arriving on Sunday and going to MK on Mon. My kids just want to be there the first day, no matter what.

No conflict as far as I'm concerned. Choosing between a Monday and a Thursday is probably the easiest choice you'll have to make for a trip. Thursday 10 out of 10 times
