Opinions on HS

From the looks of the Disney website, there doesn't seem to be too much I think we'll be interested in. So I hate to waste a days admission for that park. However, I'm open for persuasion.

Anything I would be missing out onh if we don't go? If we go it would be on our arrival day. We arrive at the airport at 9:30, so I don't know about what time we would get to the park. Also, it's during Star Wars weekend so I figure it's going to be packed.

There are some specific attractions that I think are among Disney's best, but I don't think the theming works very well and overall isn't very interesting to me (disclaimer: I don't find Streetmosphere entertaining). I like going but it's a half a day park for us.

If there's nothing you want to see, then don't go. Certainly avoid the park during SW Weekends if you're on the fence.

Don't know about Star Wars weekend, but HS is a favorite around here.

If you don't arrive at MCO till 0930, it will be 1100 by the time you get to your resort. So you couldn't expect to get to a park before noon. Then you have to have lunch. On a SWW you'll arrive around the time the park is the most crowded and fastpasses will be long gone for TSM and you'll have long standby lines in the most popular attractions. Unless you're a rabid SW fan, I'd give it a miss.

We LOVE HS. It ranks 2nd only behind MK! My favorite ride on the whole property is there- aerosmith rockin roller coaster. Love it love it Tower of Terror is also great.

I also find it great for my girls (4 and 8, though the last time we were there they were 2 and 6). My oldest loves watching the street entertainment, we all love muppets, great movie ride, TSMM, Beauty and the Beast stage show, etc. Actually since neither ride Aerosmith or TofT and Beauty/Beast is right next to them, one of us will take the girls to Beauty while the other hits a ride, then we swap and the other person rides and the other takes the girls for ice cream.

We also love Disney Junior on stage, Indiana Jones, Backlot tours, etc.

I think there is PLENTY to do there! I guess part of it depends on the demographics of your travel party tho!

We love HS, but won't go near it on the planned SWW dates.

I agree that there are quite a few good rides at HS. Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster, Star Tours. (I don't care for Toy Story ride)

But there's no way I would go to Hollywood Studios on a Star Wars weekend.

We're not Star Wars fans by any means. Lol The only things we wanted to do was the 50's cafe and Beauty and the Beast show. I think it's a waste to use one day on that because we're not doing the parkhopper. I think we'll pass on it. Thanks for the input everyone!

It's a good park, and is worth the parkhopper. With the Hollywood Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster, they make the entrance fee worthwhile. In my opinion anyway.
Not to mention Fantasmic!

I love it. Some of the attractions are dated, but it also has some of Disney's best, do-not-miss attractions. I would recommend at least giving it a shot.

Add another to the we love HS group. All of the parks are so different and unique and HS has a neat vibe. If you dont like thrill stuff like aerosmith or TOT, there is plenty of great things to do. Beauty and the Beast is one of the best shows around and Fantasmic is not to be missed.
For what its worth, we had a group of non thrill folks with us our last trip and we talked most of them to going on TOT. They all LOVED it and insisted on riding again.
