Just wondering what people's opinions were on dinner at Captain's Grille- love it :thumbsup2 , hate it  , indifferent :confused3 ?

Thanks.

This is the new name for the Galley right? If so do they still have a breakfast buffet?

Breakfast still rocks, Dinner still rocks... this is still a hidden gem, not much wait, off the beat and path, quiet, affordable.

Captain Grille is in the Yacht Club Resort. Great choice for all the meals :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cloud9:

You are so right Wildoscar, but I don't know if I want you spreading the word. We go here all the time, never have an ADR, never turned away. Food is always delicous especially breakfast.

We enjoyed our dinner there. In fact, I'm discussing with my husband right now if I should make a reservation for next Monday night or not. He has some business to do that day and we thought we'd play it by ear. But we'd try even for a walk up.

The clam chowder was really good.

We were just there a few days ago for dinner and loved it except in the chicken dish there is a ton of red and green peppers and we are not that fond of them.

We had the buffet breakfast there yesterday and it was blech, all the food was dried out and not replensished well at all. They serve the exact same food as Cape May (which we cancelled our ressie for) but it is cheaper. We should have kept CM because at least there the food turn around is better.

You can view pics and reviews from dinner on my dining review link.

Oh and one more thing, all last week they were not accepting walk ups after 6 pm...they open at 5:30

I have no problem with telling people, cause no one can ever find it.

Sorry you did not have a good breakfast... usually it is one of the better buffets on property, and you can always order off the menu.

Thanks so much everyone for your thoughts. I am thinking we might try this on our first evening before an Illuminations cruise (if we are lucky enough to get one!)

Thanks again.

Not me, I have had nothing but great meals here.

My DD was hostessing at the CG and she said people were really loving the place - she is now manning the phones for private dining at the Yacht and Beach Clubs, but if you see a CM strolling through those resorts and her name is Amanda from Buffalo State College, tell her mom (grinningghost) says hi!:thumbsup2 :)

Thanks for this thread! I just made ressies here for April 28 and had no problem getting the time I wanted. I am really excited to try this place.
