Seeking any opinions on coral reef? It will be DH (36) and myself (28). Any advice would you eat here or pick some where else. If you like to explain why. Atmosphere, Food, etc

Thanks

We ate there last December and I thought it was the best meal of the trip. I had blackened catfish, nwever had anything blackened or catfish before. I loved it and it came on pepper jack grits loved them too! My husband had the daily special which was good too. It was beautiful inside and much smaller than I thought. It was a very relaxing meal.

I have not been to Coral Reef pre DDP but I understand that they have changed their menu. (one of the downfalls of DDP) That being said, our meal there was nice and our server was great. It wasn't amazing but you get what you pay for I suppose. (Unless is CA Grill). They sat us right next to the tank. My suggestion is to go for lunch. The menu does not change much between lunch and dinner and they have a prefix with a descent lobster bisque.

We had dinner at Coral Reef two weeks ago--April 28 to be exact. Of the 8 different table service restaurants that we frequented that week, Coral Reef was by far the most disappointing.

We were a party of four, and we each had a different entree. None of us liked the food, and most of it went back uneaten. Although I must say, in fairness, the appetizers and desserts were very good) Some people say the steak is the thing to order here, but when we go to seafood restaurants, we like to order seafood, and, at least in our group's opinion, the seafood entrees were not good at all! If you are not on the dining plan, it is also somewhat expensive for what you get--our check for four EXCLUDING wine and drinks was around $220.

CR is off our list!

The felling you get sitting and watching fish float and swim in the aquarium as you dine is amazing.
If this restaurant was anywhere else but Disney, I certainly would not bother to go. Since it is an on-site Disney restaurant, I like to go there every couple of trips to the World. This upcoming trip I am going twice.

I do find that there is definite inconsistancies in the dining experience here, but with DDP, the experience is still worth the 1TS.

We have eaten there a couple of times and thought it was good. I like fish and enjoyed everything I ate. It was also cool to sit right next to the aquarium and watch the fish floating by. Our problem is the location. There are so many great restaurants in Epcot that it's hard to justify going there for a good meal. But I have nothing bad to say about it.

Thanks for all the advice. Keep it coming. We are torn because of the choices in Epcot. I feel practically like out of all the theme parks we want to eat here the most.
