Opinions on Bonnet Creek please

My husband and I along with our 6 year old granddaughter stayed at Bonnet Creek in November 2012. We had a 1 bedroom presidential suite and loved it! I really enjoyed having the extra space, a kitchen to have breakfast before heading out to the park and my own washer and dryer. Pools, waterslides and a lazy river didn't hurt either.

We have reserved a 2 bedroom presidential unit through Vacation Strategy for May 2015. Used this company in 2012 and was very satisfied with their service. Nice people to deal with. Taking 2 Grandkids this time so will enjoy all the space and recreation at Bonnet Creek.

In 2012 we used the bus service to the parks and found the service and timetable quite suitable for our needs. Since Bonnet Creek is now charging for bus service and people seem to be less than satisfied with the schedule we may just use a taxi for transport to the parks. We can decide on a course of action after we arrive.

Six months before this we stayed on site at POFQ. (Disney Package) Again, a wonderful time with our Granddaughter. She turned 6 on this trip. She was treated like the princess that she is. lol So much attention from everyone. It was fun. lol I think you may miss a little of that "Disney Magic." but you won't miss the small hotel rooms.

There are pros and cons to staying on or off site.

There is:

Hilton BC
Waldorf (at BC)
Wyndham Grand (hotel on BC)
Wyndham Bonnet Creek (timeshare resort)

The Wyndham Grand and WBC are in the same complex.

Which one has the Presidential Suites everyone is talking about?
Thanks for Jaykor for the above info. :)

Wyndham Bonnet Creek (the timeshare) is the one with Presidential Units and it is on Chelonia Parkway.

I've read several comments about vacationers agreeing to a sales presentation at BC in exchange for a gift card and then not being allowed to leave. How can this happen? Are they locked in a room? Are they physically blocked from leaving? Keeping someone from leaving against her or his will is false imprisonment. It's a felony and people go to jail for it. So, stating you were not allowed to leave is a serious accusation. I am planning my first trip to this off-property resort and certainly hope no one tries to prevent my lawful movement! Other than that, the property looks great!

When you agree to attend a sales presentation it states the minimum amount of time it will take. However, the time clock does not start until after the breakfast and tour. You would be free to leave but would not receive the gifts promised unless you stay for the entire presentation. Once you say no you are usually handed off to 2 more folks who try to get you to say yes. After suffering through 3 different sales persons then you finally receive your free 'gifts'. If you put any value on your vacation time I assure you the gifts given are not worth the vacation time lost. Do yourself a favor and say no to any presentation - your time is more valuable.!!!
The parking pass table is where you get hit up for the sales presentation. You do NOT need the parking pass. Your room key will get you into the property so do yourself a favor and skip this desk.
If you are staying in building 6 you will want to get a parking garage gate card from the frost desk - not the parking pass desk - for admittance to the parking garage shared by building 6 and the Wyndham Grand hotel. The parking garage between buildings 4 & 5 does not have a gated entrance.

We love Wyndham Bonnet Creek and will be staying there for the 4th time at the end of October. We prefer staying off site and having all of the conveniences of the washer/dryer, separate bedrooms, and kitchen appliances. We also prefer driving ourselves into and out of the parks so this works well for us. The rooms are really nice and we love the pools.

The only downsides -parking can be somewhat challenging, check in can be time consuming, but we have NEVER participated in one of the timeshare spiels - just turn our ringer down.

Every time we have gone, we have asked for a room with a fireworks view of Epcot and have had awesome views each time!

If you are interested in purchasing a time share at WBC with the intent of actually using it then avoid purchasing from the developer. My suggestion is to buy off of the secondary market. You won' t be able to avoid the annual maintenance fee but your purchase cost plus reasonable closing expenses will save you the Hassel of a sales presentation and also save you a bunch of money.
