Been There, Done That, Going Back!!! :thewave:

Pop is the only value Resort we will stay at. We stayed there 3 times between sept and october. We won't stay at any other value resorts but Pop and yes, we have stayed at all of the others before. They did something different, better with Pop. We have an 8 year old son and he enjoys the resort. If we are doing Disney cheap, We would definately stay at pop. Other resorts we love are POR formerly Dixie Landings, Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club. If you have any specific questions, please ask.

My wife and I stayed at Pop in March 2004 with my 2 sons age 7 & 5. We had a great time. My sons liked the Pop Jet area and the pool. We have stayed at several resorts in the past and my sons liked the Pop better taht the Poly. In fact we are going back in June and they wanted to stay at the Pop. Thought it was the best bus service at all the resorts we have stayed in.

I may be the minority here, but we just did not care for this resort. We liked Movies alot better.

We are going in May and even tho we have not stayed on the disney properties before I read and take in others opinions but I don't take them to heart. Everyones tastes and preferences are different, I look at it as its a hotel room its a value resort your not gonna get extras... aslong as it is clean then thats the most important thing to me. If food is bad, there is other places to eat. When we go to Disney we don't spend ANY time in the room except for bed time and showers.... if it were a carribean holiday then yes it would matter about food and extras ect as you do spen all your time there. This is Disney if the Hotel is a major factor in your trip then spend the money for delux hotels if you are there for the parks and don't care about the room go for the lower standard resorts. I say just go and have fun it's what you make of it that really matters! Not the Hotel room or food you have Tons of options while there. :cheer2: :wizard:

We stayed last June and really enjoyed it. It was a little crowded, but it was June after all. I originally requested a pool view basically to get preferred and avoid parking lot. However, we stayed on the back side looking out at the lake that separates the resort. It was great. You can also walk alongside the water on a paved path and there are ducks in the grass. You can buy food from machines to feed the fish and turtles. Food court can be a little busy, but they have a great selection and it's good. Busses ran good since they didn't share stops with any other resort.

I stayed there last april, and am going again in 18.5 days(at time of this posting). I liked it, thought it was good.
different people like different things, in october we are going delux(just this one), staying at wilderness lodge. like anything else, some people like it, some don't. you won't know for yourself until you stay there.
but don't listen to anyone that describes it as a motel 6, it is NOT a motel 6
:rolleyes1

I will be staying at Pop Century in May also. I will be there from May 8th-May 15th. I have never stayed there before either, but I have heard a lot of good things about it. Maybe I will see you there! :wave2:

I am visiting the EXACT same time you are at the same resort! Hope to run into you there!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lovestruc :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We stayed at Pop May of 04. We loved it. Actually liked it much better than CBR. We were there for DD 2nd Bday. Staff was very nice and helpful. The food in the food court was fantastic. We especially loved the bus service. Since we were the only hotel it serviced, it was much faster than the busses from CRB. Our room was always kept clean and DD toys were always arranged in the window everyday. We had a bunny that frequented our window everyday. DD loved playing in the pop jets. We have some fond memories of walking by the pond and seeing the ducks as well as seeing the fireworks from Epcot from the sidewalk outside our room. We don't spend a lot of time in our room, sleeping and showers mostly so the size didn't bother us. I think you will enjoy it. Have a great time! Wish we were going back this year, but alas it doesn't look like it... :confused3

We stayed at POP in March and it was a lot of fun. We went for spring break so we wanted to pick one of the cheaper resorts but one that didn't look *too* tacky. On the shuttle from the airport we passed Music and Sports on our way to drop people off at Movies - they looked really tacky to me and the colors on the building were really faded. I liked POP's theme a lot better - especially since we were in the 80s section being babies of the 80s! The Rubiks Cube stairs were fascinating. In conclusion: While I would have rather stayed at a moderate or delux resort instead because it's more my style, POP served its purpose and was good since we were on a budget.

Fireman17, trust another smoke eater here. You, your DW and the kids will love Pop. We stayed there last year after staying at nothing but deluxes and we're going back on Wed. the 6th for ten great days. Just remember the old saying about one bad review will be told to 100 people and one good review will be told to 10. The rooms are a little small, but how much time do you really spend in the room?? The pools are great and the food court is above average. The CM's are some of the best around. Last trip our mousekeeper invited us to her house for dinner. You'll have a great time. :firefight

Stayed one night in January before checking in at the Poly and my overall rating for a value resort is very good. Very neat and clean and newer than the rest of the values.Pop is a very colorful ,fun place and the kids will really enjoy it. Only down side is the rooms are very small to me,and there are no hairdryers.(so I had one bad hair day) :rotfl: I would relax and enjoy your selection and make the most of it. Have an excellent vacation  Say hi! to ::MickeyMo for me.....

We have stayed there twice and loved it. DS5 and DS3 really like the large icons, pop jet area and the pools. We thought the size of the rooms were just fine. Of course, we spent very little time in our room. :bounce:

We (DW and DD) stayed there last year right before thanksgiving and loved it. We had the choice of POR or POP again and my picky DW voted for POP again, so we are going down the week leading up to x-mas and staying POP. The food court is just that a food court, not gourmet but decent fast food. Tell DW not to worry, the rooms may be small but they are clean and like other posters have mentioned "How much time do you really spend in the room'. Hope you have a great time.

:flower: My DH, DD and myself stayed at Pop in October 2004 and are returning in November. Like your wife I too was hesitant about staying at this value resort. Once we arrived and settled in WE LOVED IT!!! My 3 year old loved the fact that she had her own little pool to run around in and play with all of the other kids. She asks us all of the time when are we going back to the hotel so she can go swimming. The food court is great and it has a nice variety to choose from. The arcade is fun when you have some extra down time. We stayed in a preferred room, in the 60's bldg. which overlooked the pool and it was great always looking out our window seeing everyone enjoying themselves. Tell you wife not to panic, just relax, go with the flow and she will have a great time. pirate: princess: princess:
