Anyone feel strongly, that their grill is the best bargain?

Dh & I are looking for a reasonable gas grill that will last a few years. We are thinking in the $200-$300 price range. Any suggestions? We saw a Brinkman ( I think that's the name) at our local Target. Anyone know if they are any good. The one we have now is a Charbroil brand.

Thanks in advance.

Weber is the best there is. We have had our Weber Silver for 4 years now and it is worth every penny. We have only had to replace the burners this year. It does a really good job with temperature control, and cooks evenly. We can do whole pork loins on it that come out perfect every time. All we have to do is set the timer and turn it on time!

Second the Weber - we're up for a new one, because the one we bought 13 years ago needs new parts, and at this point, it's lasted so long, it's time for a new one. My sister buys cheap grills, and gets a new one every other year.

Weber!!!

Ours even blew off the poarch (about 3 feet). It has a couple of minor scratches but that's it. We have had ours for about 10 years. I'm not sure it would be less than $300 but imo it is worth every dime. I saved my money for about two years so I could get the Weber instead of something else and now I'm glad I did.

Agree with everyone with the Weber recommendation. When we first bought our house, we bought a "cheaper" grill and it lasted maybe 2 years. Then we went out and bought the Weber, WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!!! Ours is 9 years old and most likely we'll replace it in the next couple of years. We've replaced the grates and flavor bars twice so far and it's running GREAT for a 9 yo grill. In this case, you DEFINITELY get what you pay for.....

We used to only have a Weber charcoal grill, but about 8 years ago, we bought a Charbroil to do quicker outdoor grilling. It lasted about 5 years, but too many things kept breaking, especially in the igniting system. Ditched it 3 years ago and bought a Weber gas grill and (knock on wood), it's even cooking across all burners, very, very easy to ignite, less flare-ups (really, hardly any). I would never buy any other brand now. Look on the Weber site to see the different types. Weber gas grills are carried at Lowe's, Home Depot, but we went to Ace Hardware and bought a Genesis because they had the cooking grates we wanted (stainless steel because they're easier to clean and last longer than the porcelain enamel). Weber runs $600 and up, so they're not in the price range you listed.

I think how you store your gas grill makes a big difference. We had a ~$100 charbroil for over 10 years. It was not kept outdoors. It did not get rained on. We now have a sister brand (same company but cheaper to buy - we wanted a high topped grill and this one had it and the Weber did not) to the Weber and it is maybe 7 or 8 years old. It works great.

I don't know how long ours will last lol since we just bought it last summer so far so good but I'll tell you the goods. We purchased a charbroil red grill that is completely infrared and also has a self cleaning cycle all you do is close the lid press a button come back once its cool and sweep up the ashes I love it and it doesn't' use a lot of fuel. We love it no more scraping or scrubbing just cook and enjoy.

We had a ~$100 charbroil for over 10 years. at.

DH and I bought a $150 Charbroil when we got married 10 1/2 years ago. It was stored outside, but the gas tank removed each winter, and it was covered when it wasn't used. It just died last summer, and only because it got blown over and landed on a chair. We are looking to replace it and just haven't made up our minds what to get yet :)

We bought a middle of the road Charbroil about 3 years ago at Home Depot for under $300 and it's still going strong. It lives outside, covered, has moved 3 times and it's great. My parents had a really expensive top of the line grill they bought at the same time and already need to have it replaced and are looking at getting the same model as ours. It's great! Cheap enough to replace later as well.

I'm another one of the group who says don't cheap out on a grill. I have the Weber Genesis e310, I bought it about 3 years ago and its used year round and I live just outside Boston, its safe to say my oven doesn't get much use in the summer. If your a casual griller I would say go for the spirit line, they are still made well and come with Weber's great customer service. I was one of those who was buying cheapos every 2 or so years and I don't see replacing this one for another 10.

DH and I bought our 1st Weber gas grill before we were even married - in 1989. It needed to be replaced about 5 years ago. 2nd gas grill...also a weber grill.

Those grills are worth every penny!

We have a Sears Kenmore grill. We paid 200.00 for it in 2004. At the time of buying it the salesman tried to get us to buy the protection plan. We passed on it and have had no issues other than the ignition button went last year. We have not replaced this yet but it is a cheap fix. Much cheaper than the cost of a new grill or the cost of the protection plan. We have just been lighting the grill with a long lighter. We use our grill all the time in the Summer.

We keep ours out on our deck all year round with a heavy duty cover on it. We unhook the tank from the grill but leave the tank on it. Our tank is in great condition. No problems with leaving it out all year. When my husband took it to be filled last year the man that filled it could not believe how good a condition our tank was in.

We have a Weber, and it is the best ever!!! Had it 12 years and going strong!!!!!:thumbsup2
