I am going on my first trip to WDW. I am trying to decide between a 10 day no expire with hopping privileges and an annual pass or just a 7 day hopper (that is the length of my visit). This is my first visit and I would appreciate any opinions. Thank you.

Well...if you plan to go back in the near future, i'd go with the ten. I believe it's only a few more dollars with the base ticket, and $100/ticket for the no expiration option.

If you plan on going back within the year then I would suggest going with the Annual Pass. I think it pays for itself after 7 uses.

If you don't think you'll go back within a year then go with whatever you can afford.

Probably the biggest factor in deciding between a hopper pass and an annual pass is whether you'll visit WDW again within a year or not. From what I've read, if you plan to visit the parks 11 or more days in a year, an annual pass is worth it. There are other discounts, for instance on Disney resort rooms, that may also make it worthwhile. Here's a link that has some additional info - http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwtixadvice.html .

I believe the new Magic Your Way tickets have made things a bit more complicated in determining whether an Annual Pass makes sense. There are far more options, plus a steeper drop-off in price as you add days (for one type of MYW pass, for example, the difference between a 6-day and 7-day pass is only $3.00).

There are significant discounts on the Disney hotels for Annual Passholders, so that can be a factor too, if you're staying onsite (and especially if you're staying in a deluxe resort, and/or off-season).

As for the 7- or 10-day tickets . . . I don't know that I can really offer advice, but I personally bought 7-day expiry tickets for my upcoming 7-day stay. Strictly based on the math it would have been cheaper per-day to buy 10-day tickets, but then I also figured that I might end up coming back for another 7-day vacation, and then I'd need to buy 4-day MYW passes, and then I wasn't so sure that I would have saved money. So, I took the easy safe route and bought the 7-day. But reasonable people can certainly disagree about the right way to go on that.

I think if you are a first timer, ten day tickets might be the way to go, unless a AP would save you enough money off of the room. If you are a first timer though, you might really enjoy the new dining package.
the ten day tickets will sort of ensure a return trip, IMHO, without making it necessary to go again with in the one year time frame. Keep in mind also that ticket prices are not likely to go down anytime soon, except for maybe a one time promotion deal.
