I would like some advice before I try to cancel my plane reservations with USAir (Metrojet). When I first booked last July I had a direct flight. Now I have a stop and the flight leaves an hour earlier (6 am!!!!) Same with the return trip. Do I have a chance of getting my money back? I want a direct flight. Delta and American still have direct flights from Boston. BTW I was never notified of the changes. I was just checking airfares when I noticed my flight missing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Janis

I have several friends who have had flights changed at the last minute on several airlines, all out of Logan. All have said that the airline's attitude has been "take it or leave it". Some have been rather rude. You can probably only change your flights if you are willing to pay the extra fee. Good luck- but I'd leave the flights the way they are, if it was me. BTW, make sure you are at Logan 2 hours ahead of time. Even if the gates aren't open, they'll let you into the lobbies to wait in line at the check out counters- DS said 2 hours early for 7 am flight gave them just barely enough time to catch their plane!

If you are arriving within two hours of the original time, you do'nt really have a leg to stand on. The airlines have the right to change your flight schedule, numbers, seats, stops, etc., as long as they get you to your destination within two hours of the original arrival time. As far as being notified of the changes, who did you book through? Direct with the airline? I booked direct with USAir online for my January trip, and got an email yesterday notifying me of a small schedule change. If you booked through a travel agent (including the online ones like Travelocity) they were notified and it is their responsibility to notify you, not the airlines. IT all has to do with Agnecy relationships as spelled out under the UCC (Federal Law).

I recently cancelled a Delta flight and got a full refund. But the flight landed a full four hours earlier than the one I had originally booked, so they pretty much had to comply with my request. But a one hour time change, and changing from a non-stop to a change of planes, I do'nt know. My guess is not likely.
