We are going to be at DL Nov 29-Dec 2:yay:. We are driving, leaving at 6am, and should be at the hotel about 1:30/2pm. I am trying to decide whether or not to buy the 2 day or the 3 day hopper. There are 3 of us going so the difference is about just under $100. One important note - which is why I am having trouble deciding, I am trying to keep the costs down but this is my daughter last trip to DL and I want her to do as much as possible while have it being somewhat relaxing.

Do you think the fireworks will be just on Sunday or also on monday? They have the fireworks scheduled for monday november 16th.

Would you get the 3 day hopper pass and go to the park on Sunday or just do the resorts & DTD? I want to eat at the Rainforest Cafe one evening but we could do that monday or tuesday.

How would you schedule the two parks, DTD and the resorts since we'd like to see the decorations?:santa:

Any opinions on Goofy's for breakfast, or any other character breakfast? I was thinking that we could do one before we leave on the 2nd. We will be eating breakfast in our room the other mornings.

Thanks!!!!!!

I would recommend you get the 3 day park hopper. You are going on the weekend that follows thanksgiving celebration & it is usually crowded. By having an extra day you have more time to see and ride your daughter's favorites.

They usually have fireworks on the weekends but Disney rarely posts the dates in advance :sad2:. I'm guessing, they will have fireworks most likely every night!!!!

A lot of people here have recommended Goofy's Kitchen. We are going to try it next week :cool1: Sounds like it's really good.

Have a great trip. :wizard:

I would do 3 too. Sunday is open until 11 pm and probably the only night you will get to see Fantasmic!. Fireworks are usually nightly during the holiday season.

I highly recommend Goofy's Kitchen for brunch. We had a great time their last month and looking forward to going back in December.

I would also go with the 3 day for the same reasons mentioned above.

We also do a 4 day and just do half days at the park on our arrival and departure days. It works our well for us.

I have no input on the fireworks. We don't tend to watch them when we've there. Sorry. We also haven't been to GK yet. It's on our list for our next trip since so many people like it so well.

We will be there that weekend, we are coming in the Wed before tho and we have APs. :) For your situation I would get the 3 day hoppers. Also, if you left a little earlier you'd get there a little earlier and have a little more time for the parks. We drive about the same distance but we leave around 4 am, we've left as early as 3 but that's really hard to get thru the rest of the day. I'm usually really good if we leave at 4, then we are in the parks by 11.

We live in San Jose and always leave early in the AM and get to DL by 1:30 or 2pm...we almost always get the 3 day park hopper pass.
We tend to go to DCA on the first afternoon....then spend most of the next two days in DL....with maybe another short blast or two over to DCA depending on crowds...
we will be doing exactly this plan in just 8 days...:cool1:

On one of our trips down there, we had breakfast at Goofy's on our travel home day. It was a nice end to the trip and we still got that Disney feel even though we did not go into the parks.

I def. recommend getting the 3 day hopper. Since you're getting there early enough in the day, you still have plenty of time to enjoy yourself in the parks. Heck, you could probably go in and collect some Fast Passes to use later that night!

Have a great trip!!:)

Get the 3 day hopper if you can swing the extra $100. Since you will get to DLR in the early afternoon you will still have a lot of time to be in the parks and ride some of the fast loaders. Will you be there on a CP night??? That could be a factor in your decision. DL is VERY crowded for CP and is really hard to move around in, especially if you are picking up your tickets at the ticket booths.

The MM is worth it to me with the 3 day hopper, but we are early morning people, even on vacation and so it works for us. DH and I were in DL in mid July and even though we didn't have MM privileges, we still got to the gates before opening and enjoyed the quiet of the parks. Those first 2 or 3 hours were golden for us and we got a TON of stuff done.

When we were at DLR last year the very first weekend in Dec., they had fireworks every night. We did see the fireworks early on one of the nights, Monday, I think, because of CM Christmas parties and the park closed at 6 pm. Fireworks were at 5:45 that night and it was dark enough to see them really well.

We will be there on November 29th as well! We will be counting down the same number of days! I can't wait!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We'll be there at the same time too! We'll arrive on Sat. and do a 1/2 day at DCA, then possibly hop over for a parade or fireworks. We're doing full park days on Sun, Mon, and Tues, and then Goofy's kitchen at 8am before checking out Wed. morning. Planning on watching Fantasmic Sun. night. It is not much extra $ to add on 1 more park day, and even if we just use it to catch a parade or do a few rides, I think it will be worth it to have the extra time. It's difficult to try to plan enough park time balanced w/ some resort pool/ downtown Disney time though - I wish we could stay 4 a few weeks!
