Opinions needed quickly on GF CAFE!

We are calling tomorrow bright and early for our ADRs
We are thinking of adding the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner.
(There will be nine of us-ages 2, 5, 9, 18, 21, 26, 29, 40+ and 50+-all on the dining plan. Give us your opinions, please!

I wouldn't. Since you are on the dining plan, you have so many great choices and I think this restaurant is just "okay". If you're looking for something at GF, 1900 Park Fare would be really fun (yes, it's a character buffet, but from the ages you list I think there might be some in your party who would really enjoy that). If you're just looking for a nice non-buffet sit-down on the monorail for 1 credit, I think Kona Cafe is a better choice.

From reading your other thread, it sounds like you all will have a great trip no matter where you eat though!

We have had breakfast there as well as dinner. We really enjoyed our breakfast and the service. Bright and cheery and the best part, our kids were on the pirate cruise! The dinner was just..... food. We enjoyed 1900 Park Fair for dinner more as well.

Yeah, this was pretty much my feeling. It was good, just nothing spectacular. For a moderate monorail restaurant, I'd take Kona any day over the GF Cafe. We enjoyed the Yacht Club Galley more, even.

I had a wonderful dinner there in this past December. I had the shrimp and prosciutto penne pasta with asparagus tips in asiago cheese sauce and it was fantastic. My wife and myself shared some of the mini desserts that they make right at the GF. Overall it was a very nice dinner with excellent service. It was our first time dinning there and I'm sure we will be back in the future.

We had a very nice lunch there with a group of nine in October--2, 4, 7, 2-30s, 2-40s, 2-60s. Our server and the chef were so accomodating, both to my dad's dietary restriction and my Dsis's boys having a picky day. Everything was very good and fresh and the setting was delightful. It was a very nice meal, not really a wow, but sometimes you don't want that. This was towards the end of our trip and it was nice to be somewhere that felt like it was away from the WDW hub-bub.

Both times I have gone there it has been great. We had great service and the food was above average. I love the atmosphere. Very bright, and cheery, lots of windows with great views of the grounds. I would definately recommend it and give it a try.....

We had two wonderful meals there in the Summer. We each had halibut in a creamy sauce and the chocolate fondue. It was restful and a pleasure to be there. I am planning to return in August when we are back again.

I've never been there, but the pictures of the Grand Floridian Cafe on the Food Pictures thread look soooooo YUMMY!!! It made we want to try it out.
