I am looking for an inexpensive MP3 player for my DS10 for Christmas. Meijer has an RCA Lyra 512 MP3 player on sale for 39.99 this weekend. Normally 69.99. Is this a good one to start out with and a decent price? The reviews don't look too bad on Amazon for this one. Here's the link.

Any opinions would be great. Neither my husband or I have one, so this is all new to me.

I have that same MP3 player. It holds about 7 hours of music. I like it. I use it when I go for walks and stuff.

My DH got the SanDisk Sansa M240 on Amazon for an upcoming long plane ride. It holds twice as much as the RCA and has a built in FM tuner. The price he paid was $62. The song quality is pretty good and you can sort your music by song, genre, artist, etc. I boought a Creative Zen Nano Plus for myself but do not like the small screen. It is more compact than the SanDisk if that is important to you and also has a FM tuner.

Not to hijack this thread but how do you get the music onto the MP3 player. I realize this may be eay but mine didn;t come with directions just a disk for my computer. I downloaded it but I still can't figure it out. I'm not very computer savy. TIA

I've got a similar model for use at the gym and I've had no problems with it. The big drawback to me is that you can't create any kind of playlists (which your child probably wouldn't care about). However, I do care so I'm getting an iPod for my anniversary (just waiting for Amazon to deliver it) :cloud9:
