Hi we are going to LAX 2/17/12 to 2/26/12

Virgin America airlines has a great "non stop flight" fro JFK to LAX for 422.00 RT

I really don't know much about the airline, would love some feedback before we book.

Any info would be great.

Thank you

Are you sure this is Virgin Atlantic?

Virgin Atlantic is a international carrier based in the UK, but, as a foreign carrier, they do not offer domestic service within the United States.

There's another carrier with a similar name: Virgin America. It's a US. domestic carrier (and also has a few routes from the U.S. to Mexico).

Horace you are correct, it is Virgina America airlines. I edited above. Thank you!!!

What is your opinion of VA airlines? If you had a choice between VA & Delta which carrier would you choose?

I booked flights for a friend and his family to fly Virgin America from Boston to San Diego.

They came home and told me they were MAD at me... because now they want to ONLY fly with VA. They loved it! Everything about it. They actually plan their vacations around where VA flies so they can feel like they are in 1st class all the time.

I have not flown them myself but I hope to one day!

VA is like JetBlue in terms of offerings and quality, they are top notch. They are not the cheapest or the most expensive, but they are a good airline.

You will like their Airbus planes. The seats are about 2" wider than the comparable Boeing aircraft.

VA is incredible. I love them madly.

Think about having some leeway in your budget, if booking a normal seat, because they *sometimes* offer an upgrade to first class (or the class in between first and normal) for a really nice rate when you print your boarding passes at the airport (I love having their pretty cardstock so I do it at the airport).

Just know what you're getting into...there are no free bags with a normal seat, and they charge a change fee if the fare lowers and you want to take advantage of it (just like United, etc). And you won't *want* to fly anyone else, ever again.

Thank you for the info, we are booked with VA for President's week 2012 :woohoo:

VA is a great airline. We did the same trip in 2010. Stepping into the plane I thought I was arriving at a nice Spa, mood lighting, new age music, VERY relaxing! The entire flight was fantastic, state of the art touch screens on each seat. You will love it.
