opinions needed...Castle Dinner or MNSSHP?

I'm a little confused by the OP :confused3 You can't just do dinner and no MNSSHP. I understand not wanting to miss part of the party by having dinner in the middle of it, but they won't let you into the park for a 7:00 ADR at Cindy's with no party armband, so no MNSSHP = no dinner in the castle.

Just to clarify...I realize everyone has a different experience with Dis Dining when they call..but..

When we first made our dinner res for the castle, this was not a MNSSHP party night. SO we were super excited about snagging a castle ADR. Then they changed the park hours and added this as a party night. So I called Dis Dining and they said we have a res number, with a credit card guarantee, and of course they would NOT kick us out of the MK for our dinner reservation. We would simply be escorted out of the park after dinner.

I have been trying several times a day now for the past few weeks to change this reservation. But as it is a party night the MK is booked solid and as it is the castle, there have been no other time slots available to change it too.

Other people must eat during the party, as the MK has no availability this night at all. So we have decided, we will keep our ADR for 7pm and attend the party afterwards. I will keep trying to move my ADR up, but that probability is slim to none. That is ok though..not only are our girls going to get to eat in the castle..which they really want to do, they will get to trick or treat afterwards, see the fireworks and the later parade and hopefully ride rides with no wait time!
I am not going to (well try my best not to) let this drive me nuts. We will have a magical night. I will just cross my fingers that I will be able to snag that earlier ADR or that our dinner is on time and fairly quick. Did that sound convincing?

Thanks for all your input..>Steph

We had ressie for Cindy's and went to MNSSHP afterward last year. It all worked out. We did show up early (I want to say 6:30is) and they got us right in. Now we went in Sept. (I want to say it was the first party of the year) so it wasn't as busy as it would be in late Oct.

That's what I was thinking, If you show up early, they put you on their "here" list and you could very well be seated at 6:30. Also, there is a second parade if you miss the first one, and I hear it's a lot less crowded. You'll be fine. But definately show up early for your reservation, you've got nothing to loose, and possibly an extra half hour of Party time. If it were me I'd probably even push my luck as far as showing up at 6:15. Just say you didn't want to go on any other attractions and risk missing your reservation time :thumbsup2

Well my nerves won out. I decided to cancel CRT. I wasnt able to re-book it. And while half my party isnt happy about it, I was able to get a 5:15 res at the Wave. We have never been there before and everyone was pleasantly surprised by the menu. That way we can split after dinner, half of us can got to the Halloween party and the other half back to the resort.
