Opinions about Whispering Canyon Cafe

We were there 12/2 for dinner and our server was Candy. She was sooooo funny and we had a ball with her. The other server that was waiting on tables near us was Bobby and he was really funny too. Bobby was wearing a cowboy hat with a Tigger on top of it. He came over to our table a few times too because Candy and him were teasing each other. If you have either one of them for a server I think you'll have a great time.

Anyone have a server request they can give me? We are a group of 18 and all loud and silly. (ok maybe just I am but you know what I mean...)
Thanks in advance

Ask for your beverage to be large. A large water, a large coke, just make sure you tell them you want it large :)

We're looking forward to our 1st time here in March! :cool1:

If it's your thing, then go and have a good time. It's not our thing. At all. We stayed at WL last week, and that restaurant is SO LOUD! We renamed it "Whoopin', Hollerin' Canyon," b/c "Whispering Canyon" is just way too quiet a name for it!

Everyone coming out seemed to have had a good time, though. I don't know if they enjoyed their food, but they enjoyed their entertainment.

Is it true? could this be the "Hedda Lettuce" I have heard about? Any interest in working a party of 18 or so on Feb. 11th?

DH and I ate at WC on our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. Other diners near our table were surprised that a honeymooning couple would want to eat there, but staying at WL and the fact that it was pouring outside kind of made the dinner an easy choice.
I had a veggie pasta dish and DH had blackened catfish. We enjoyed our dinners and the atmosphere.

Would LOVE to know your work schedule for 1/29-2/4. I will plan our eating around you. I will be with 3 other "adults" who will not be aware of the "ambience" of the restaurant; I want it to be a complete surprise!

Is the interaction the same for lunch as it is for dinner? We have lunch reservations, but I want to have a fun time. Is dinner better? We have never been there before.

Dh,myself and 2 dd were there in August 2003. We ate there once for breakfast and once for dinner. We got the all you can eat breakfast and it was wonderful. For the dinner, I don't remember what I got but I remember how much we liked it. It was very noisy but my dd's loved it. The ketchup jail was a highlight of the trip. They thought it was great when the straws were thrown at us.

DH and I are planning our 20th anniversary for Nov and we plan on eating breakfast at WC.

Great food for both Breakfast AND Dinner!! You have got to give it a try. If you are feeling brave, ask for a loud and obnoxious server. They will surely fill your request. Keep in mind that dinner is the busiest time and usually the loudest. If you want to be left alone, ask for a table towards the back.

For breakfast, you can't go wrong with the all you can eat skillet. For lunch or dinner, the all you can eat skillet OR my favorite, the pulled pork sandwich is awsome!

They love ketchup there so be sure to ask for some!

To be honest, I have no idea what my schedule will be then!! Best bet is for the weekends. I look forward to meeting you!

We had Christmas dinner there and LOVED IT!!!!! It really does need to be your thing though. There were a few tables or at least people at those tables that looked like they weren't having fun at all. The food that night was absolutely delicious. This will definately be a must do on all future trips!

Planning on doing this Sat Jan 29th for the first time! I think the kids will get a huge kick out of it! I will definitely ask for you Heada Lettuce! Hope you are working!

... My BIL (who isn't crazy about such restaurants) kept making comments like "Maybe they should spend more time making our food and less time playing games!", but that's just him.

I would definitely go back.

For what it's worth, I know a guy who had the same type of attitude at a WDW restaurant and the server noticed it and casually leaned forward and whispered "Lighten' up sir, you're paying good money for this stuff", This particular person I know said that changed his attitude and he then got into it more.

I ate there for supper and breakfast. The all-you-can-eat supper was below average in my book. The cornbread, mashed potatoes, beans and pulled pork were very good. The ribs were terrible.... Good ribs should have the meat easily coming off the bone, these I darn near threw one across the room trying to get anything off of it and I finally gave up. So the ribs in my opinion were the worst ribs I have ever had. The chicken I also did not care for, more to do with taste, maybe a spice or something, just didn't care for it. The dinner sausage seemed not to be very good quality and was gristly, not as good as you would get from your grocer.

I also didn't care for the atmosphere. Maybe I am one of those that needs to lighten up, but really I think the concept is good, but it just didn't work..... very loud, but very little funny.... if they had been funny... but they weren't. The few cute thing were the requests for ketchup and the stick horse race. I am sure many love it. The big thing for us was food quality, bad ribs, bad sausage and chicken we weren't much on.

We will not be back for dinner there. Very mediocre food.

Breakfast was another story, food quality in our opinion was much better. Good eggs, sausage, bacon, gravy, biscuits, etc. but still I have a complaint. Everyone in my party of 4 at the all-you-can-eat breakfast, which is a big skillet of food shared by the party. After we had put a serious dent in the food, the waitress asked if we were "ready for another round." We asked for more biscuits and sausage, both of which we had none left. A few minutes later a gentleman from the kitchen comes out with a saucer on which was 2 biscuits and 2 sausage links. 4 people at the table and they brought 2 sausage links!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All in all we would never go out of our way to eat here again. If we stay at WL again we will not eat here for supper due to poor food quality relative to price, but out of convenience we'd probably eat breakfast there again.
