Opinions about our plan

This is the first time we've gone where DCA hours will be the same as DL..and with the change in MM/EHM days, I want to make sure I'm doing this most effectively.

So basic background - coming down early on Thurs Oct 18th, returning home early Sun Oct 21st. We are staying offsite and have APs so no MM/EHM for us. We have 4 kids - 3 of which are tall enough for 40in+ rides (and this will be DS's first time being able to ride the 40in rides), so single rider lines aren't really an option for us.

How have the lines in Carsland been (minus RSR) in the afternoon? Should we go over there Thurs or just stick to DL? We have reservations at 6pm at Goofy's Kitchen - DD's birthday, so no changing this. We are doing the Halloween party on Friday - dinner reserations at Cafe Orleans for 4:50.

My thought is to start Friday at DL to be on equal footing and Sat at DCA to hit Carsland - with one of us getting the FP line and then over to TSMM? We normally park hop through out the day, so I'm really thinking more about where/how to start our mornings.

Any advice? Suggestions?

We will back the following month, spending 6 days at GCH and will be able to take advantage of EMH then, so hitting everything isn't a must for this trip. RSR is a must for DS and since he's finally tall enough, I'd like to do that for him.

Are you saying that you won't be there for opening on Thursday? Because if you were, I would definitely start at DCA and go to the Racers then...

a) EMH and MM will be at DL, thus pulling people over there early in the morning, and you won't be entering the parks to already filled lines
b) Thursday will probably be the morning with the lightest crowds

But regarding your plans, it looks great. Without MM/EMH, I definitely think your best bet will be to start at the opposite park and then hop around throughout the day.

Lines for RSR in the afternoon have hovered around 120 min this summer, although recent reports after schools have started is that the lines have dropped to be around 60-90 min. As for Toy Story, the line for that does not grow to its normal 30 min length for at least an hour after opening. You will probably be able to enjoy it multiple times with little to no wait if you get there really early.

I'd start one say, rope drop, at DCA. I haven't been since CL opened, but that'll be our plan Nov 15 . Right to RSR, lineup for ride, while 1 of us gets FPs to come back later for it. Then back to TSMM for the rest of the morning (I'll wait in line while dh gets FPs for Screamin.

According to Touringplans, which some people swear by and some people hate, Friday crowds for DL are much lower than for DCA. Saturday they are closer to the same with DCA slightly lower. Looks to me like you've got a good plan.
