Opinion: Which Attraction Needs The Most Updating

Leave Small World just the way it is. People who think this ride needs to be changed are simply missing the point. They have no "inner" child left in them. This ride is nearly perfect.

My one suggestion---offer everyone who rides a fully loaded paintball gun. THAT would make it perfect. :jester:

Y'all have me LOL!

Small World and Trading Spaces or the Fab 5?!?!? ROTFLOL!!!
lol.gif

This ride you can not change even with a paintball gun!But McBoo I do understand the ceiling and floor thing...well maybe a paint gun could improve those areas!

I think El Rio de Tiemponeeds updated, that tv thing is just too freaky! I'm hoping something is in the works at the Living Seas....so much could be improved and there are so many Disney characters to tie in here now.

Maelstorm could use an overhaul too.

Frankly, Kilimanjaro is effectively is an update.

Texowl2 this is a GREAT line!!!ROFLOL! It's perfectly true!!!:teeth:

What about Snow Whites Scary Adventures?? I thought that was hurtin a lil bit. Really felt the age of that one last time I was there. The Jungle Cruise REALLY needs some help as far as ridse go. I think the MK would fare well to incorporate 1 or 2 BIGGER attractions, at DL in California, they have all the big rides from all the parks in florida in one park (never been, just noticed it on the site) I love having four really cool parks on the east coast, but paying 50 bucks for each one when theres only about 2 or 3 must do's in each is a bit steep.

How about
- Jungle Cruise
- Tommorrowland Speedway
- The Living Seas
- Living with the Land
- Star Tours
- Body Wars
- Sounds Dangerous
- Cranium Command
- Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
Don't get me wrong . I still like many of these attractions . I just think they could use some changes and updating of technology and story . Lets not replace them lets enhance them .
What do you think ?
Captain America

For a while, I've thought that Indiana Jones could use an update. While it's a good show, it doesn't seem to have changed, and it gets a little stale to see the same show each time.

The Mexico ride, definitely.

As far as Small World and other animatronic rides, I'd go for a rehab instead of an update. The last time I went, I noticed choppy movement and you could hear a "clacking" noise when they moved - and if I could hear it (with a hearing impairment), then it must have been obvious to others. I also noticed, in the Haunted Mansion, the pop-up ghouls sometimes hesitated before they fully popped up.

Speaking of the Fab Five, can you imagine what they'd say about the Pirates of the Caribbean? Especially regarding clothing and grooming!

For us it's the Country Bear Jamboree and the Jungle Cruise.

I so much want to enjoy both of these, but always come out as if I've been on a really old ride - which I have!

Jungle River cruise springs to mind straight away, they could start with the animatronix,as these have advanced somewhat since the ride opened! The Indy Speedway,I cringe everytime I've got to queue for it(got to keep the DS happy!) is the rail a safety thing because the ride is so boring! Change POTC back to the old "cast",all this PCness is so annoying!
SD:bounce:

I think that the Living Seas is badly in need of updating. It isn't nearly as much fun without the seacabs, and Seabase Alpha needs some updating too.

I love Spaceship Earth just the way it is though. I wouldn't mind if they updated the animatronics and the end scenes, but I hope they don't change the ride completely. It's my favorite WDW attraction.

Spaceship Earth runs like an old farm tractor at least updat the ride mechanism(sp?) I like the animatronic themed dark rides so I am not so sure I want the rumored "time racers" change to it, but at least clean it up a bit.

Living Seas is a nice attraction that could be great with just a little more work.

Maelstrom......what can I say, it seems like a quarter of a ride, where is the rest?

Maybe a few touchups on the Fantasyland rides and bring back 20,000 leagues even if you update it (which might be nice) it just adds some to the park.

Maybe I should post this on "have you ever had a shock" because I'm stunned that i"m the first person to mention this one - the movie in Canada at Epcot. It's 21 years old, and more than a little bizarre (caribou ranching?). If anything needs updating, it's this.

At the risk of being stoned.....I think the Haunted Mansion could use some updating. I have been riding this ride since I was 6, now 35, and it has never changed. With the technology around these days they could do some really cool effects in there and lose some of the wires and cameras that are so visible now. Don't get me wrong, it's still a must ride for me, it would just be nice to see a little update to a great venue.

I would be happy if they just changed the water in splash mountain - it stinks like it hasn't been changed since the 70's!

I'd love to see Snow White get a rehab, we usually skip it. I'd also love to see the Living seas get a major overhall because it's just sad now.

As far as Small World and other animatronic rides, I'd go for a rehab instead of an update.

I forgot to mention this but we were down in March and back again this past August and we noticied that a lot of the dolls on SW had received a face lift. The can can girls, hula girls and many others had new dresses and outfits on. There were also new dolls in place and other new pieces through out the ride. Some things were taken down like the flying carpet dolls and the clown at the end segment who rode on the high wire. The CM said the carpet boys would be back but the high wire clown was replaced with giant flowers which were very pretty.

It wasn't anything that leaps out at you but I definitely noticied the changes. In March the whole ride looked worn down and in August it looked great. Just to make sure I wasn't going crazy I asked the CM if they really did change things and he said, yeh, they've done a lot of work on it recently.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Great Movie Ride. This is such a great premise for a ride, they could do sooooo much more.

The Fab 5 and the Trading Spaces crew would have a feild day:)

Just my opinion, of course, but here is my list:

Spaceship Earth
Living Seas
El Rio Del Tiempo
Impressions de France
Oh Canada
the movie in China (can't remember the name)
Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous
Backlot Tour
StarTours
Alien Encounter
Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse

Don't know if you're aware, but the movie in China is brand new. They've replaced the old one. Of course, if you saw it in August, you've seen the new one. If this is the case, did you not like it? If it isn't the case, you might want to check it out.

Kungaloosh!
Mort.

There are soem rides I just think shouldn't be messed with except for upkeep, like POTC, HM, IASW, etc. (Note all good attractions from good ole' Walt. Think about the massacre they did with trying to "update" Tiki Room!) These attractions will always be good! Classics!
But, the Living Seas?!? OMG!!! Please, please, please update it! So much potential and yet they let it just rot. I think as the fish have been dying they don't even replace them! Last two trips the tanks seemed empty, the first tank on the right as you walk in had no fish either of my last two trips! And why didn't they cash in on Nemo? They coudl ahve really used thsi movie to spice things up a bit. I can go to Chattanooga's aquaruim a coupel hours away and thsi BLOWS the Living Seas away. Disney totally wastes that place. Such a shame!
Really sad to say most of FW needs SEVERE changes doen. My mom wnet with us last trip and was AMAZED at how badly this place needed some updating.
And what about the Backstage Tour at MGM? What a drag!!! I mena the Canyon part is cool, but the rest is a waste of tiem and a joke! they ned to just give it up! :p

My vote goes for a re-do of Star Tours and the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. These are not classic attractions and do not have the repeatablility appeal of some of the rides mentioned before.

The Great Movie Ride!! This is one of my very favorite rides, but it could use an update. The possibilities are endless! While I see everyone's point on the Jungle Cruise. I love it like it is.
