Operation Big Thunder: the Dole Whip Conspiracy COMPLETE

:sad2:
Jeff sounds like a cool guy!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

In that case, no, the average wouldn't apply.

Lawyers. :sad2:

Nothing wrong with being an engineering nerd. :thumbsup2

Do you mean an African or a European swallow?

No, we are too cheap, so we only have a pay-as-you-go dumbphone. We don't even text on it because it uses twice as many minutes as calling.

If there's a downside to this, I haven't found it yet.

It wasn't the same day as the previous chapter. Remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

That's got to be a Man Law, I would think.

:eek: If you told him that, he'd probably lift his foot, just to see what would happen.

It was very cool, Goose! Looks like Rob already answered this question for you.

It's perfect for a day trip from Myrtle--great to break up the week if you get bored at the beach after a while. Lots more to see and do in Charleston, too, which is a beautiful city.

In fact, why don't you guys head there and rent us your points for Aulani? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Uh....let me think about that one....:rolleyes1 probably not! We may have to do another add on for that one!

Thanks for the information on Battleship Cove Rob, that one would be easier to get to.

He thinks so. :lmao: The challenge with watching TG again, which of course we own, is Jeff puts it on surround sound and BLASTS the entire house.

Sounds perfectly acceptable to me.

Sad news, though. The director of Top Gun just took his own life this past weekend. Very tragic story.

I'll go with European. It gives me a 50/50 shot of not being thrown over.

Though for some reason I swear it's actually East African.

Is it carrying a coconut? It could grip it by the husk.

I give you 3 years tops before you have to change that to unlimited calls and texts...teens text.

A LOT.

They don't however, actually answer their phone.

:lmao::rotfl2:

Well, if we're too cheap to even buy ourselves a decent phone, maybe we'll still be too cheap to buy them a phone.

USS Intrepid (another sister to the Yorktown) is open to the public in NYC.

And… an even bigger treasure trove of historic naval ships is up that way as well in Fall River, Massachusetts, including a battleship, a destroyer, a sub, a Soviet built corvette and 2 PT boats. Plus everything else stored in the extensive museum collection at “Battleship Cove”.

(taking notes)

Not a lie! :lmao:

It’s not that we think these things…
It’s that you continue confirming them.

:sad2:

And I took my time reading through to find them…
It got messy in between the search for quotes and the writing of the responses.

Actually Im being very good right now. I’ll make all my comments first and only then am I going to go back and get the quotes.
Y’all have been warned.

I think you were the only guy who was logged in on Friday. Either that, or nobody else cares about my stupid movie quotes. :rotfl:

Shhhhhh… I’ve got a plan for that which involves a couple of the magnets that I use when we cruise DCL.
I’ll post the pic if I get to pull it off.

Don’t tell anyone though.

popcorn::

Does this mean that my Dope-Slap-Deficit is now up to four?

More or less.

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:
Care to play us a few sound bites?

I couldn't do it justice. He just hums while doing whatever it is he's doing. The Olympic music (Bugler's Dream) is a favorite these days.

That’s nearly as good as the various raises I’ve earned working in church bands.
And just as appreciated.

I'm a state employee. It equals our normal raise, too.

WooHoo! I missed that announcement.

And this one too…

Ptriots Point selected as site of National Medal of Honor museum

Cool! It'll be nice for them to have a proper space.

There are quite a lot of retired UNS vessels in wide ranging conditions that are open to the public (including 8 battleships and 5 carriers). My mission is to see as many of them as I can and to write about the journeys as well as the ships. No one would dream of publishing such, and even fewer folks would read it, but I intend to do it none the less (just cause I’ve nothing better to do with myself).

Oh, I think you'll find a few of us along for the ride. :thumbsup2

I think you’ve already filled them with a love for travel and discovery.
They’ll still be bored teenagers, but they’ll do it around the house on a daily bases. Which mean that the more you travel the better.

So let it be written. So let it be done.

First quote…

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

(I’ll wait a while before going after the next one)

+1:thumbsup2

Since history is my favorite subject I did enjoy this lesson. Thank you so much for answering my question.

Don't know if I'll ever make it to Corpus Christi, but I sure we had seen the Yorktown when we lived in Columbia, SC.

Rob's got plenty more history lessons in his various TR's. There's some interesting stuff there.

OK… it’s been a while and I’ll skip over one that’s dead easy and pick up one that got danced around but not caught

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I know of at least three more, so…
I’ll be back.

+1:thumbsup2

I’m baaaaack…
This one was he most fun I thought.

Catch-22

Uh....let me think about that one....:rolleyes1 probably not! We may have to do another add on for that one!

Oh well. We're actually planning a trip to Hawaii next year, and I'd love to do Aulani...but would need a Mysterious DVC Benefactor to help out in order to be able to afford it.

didnt see anyone get this, star wars, for a bonus point i believe it was when samuel l jackson was talking about aniken in the council meeting?

+1:thumbsup2

As well as being in every Star Wars movie, multiple times! :rotfl2:

ratatouille:woohoo:

+1:thumbsup2

Well....it wasn't too bad....I was eating a pastry myself..... :rolleyes1

Thanks for backing me up, honey!

Thanks for the information on Battleship Cove Rob, that one would be easier to get to.

:thumbsup2

OK, all caught up and subscribed to follow along. Looks like a great trip so far!

:welcome: Thanks for reading!

So, did everyone submit a guess for the lie in the previous chapter? Everyone who is going to submit one, I mean.

My guess for the lie is you didn't really get lost. It pains me to say that, because I believe you did but I don't have another guess.

He's actually out running right now! (And because life's unfair, he can run faster than me, even though I've been doing it longer.)
Wait a minute! Does the lie actually have to be written by Mark and come from the actual update? I think I've spotted one! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

:Ok, that's a good reason. The biggest problem with running is that you have to do it for 30 days to drop 5 lbs. and then it takes 1 day to gain it all back.
And if you stop for donuts on the way everymorning you might be able to just hold steady. :lmao:

Seems to be a popular guess. So let's recap: you all think I'm a lazy slob, I suck at golf, and there's no way I could be a model husband. Did I catch everything?
I think that pretty much sums it up. :thumbsup2

Aircraft carriers rock.
:cool2: ::yes::

He thinks so. :lmao: The challenge with watching TG again, which of course we own, is Jeff puts it on surround sound and BLASTS the entire house.
That is the only way to watch it. If you do that with a good enough surround sound, you can actually feel the jet wash. :cool2::lmao::rotfl2:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

As you know, Julie is a saint, and therefore incapable of lying.

And if you stop for donuts on the way everymorning you might be able to just hold steady. :lmao:

But that's the only way to make it enjoyable. This is a real conundrum.

I think that pretty much sums it up. :thumbsup2

:headache:

While I don't think this is it, I'll go with the lie being that Julie ran to the bakery and brought back pastries. Jeff assures me he'd never run carrying $$ and/or a paper bag back. Which shoots my dream of that kind of treat out of him. Julie is nicer I think.

:rotfl:

Well, the lie was a little more subtle in that chapter, and as a result, no one quite sussed it out. I did indeed leave Darth back at the beach house, and I did indeed get lost and make a wrong turn, heading into Charleston in the morning. But it wasn't as bad as I made it out to be. When we got off the exit, there was an on-ramp immediately nearby, so we hopped right back on the bridge. Nowhere near as torturous as I made it sound.

Up-to-date standings...

Rob opened up a big lead after that last chapter (and the subsequent responses). But there will be plenty of chapters ahead, so there's still time to catch up...

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

You know, I thought more people would pick that out as the lie, because it just seems so ridiculous on the surface. I guess my regular readers have figured out how routinely ridiculous we are by now. :rotfl:

Anyway, you can now point out that this story is 100% true, and put more peer pressure on him. :thumbsup2
