We currently have a cruise booked for next spring with our OBB. We would like our travel agent to price a summer cruise when our window opens on Tuesday. Are they able to get a quote and hold a room for us using that OBB without canceling the spring cruise first? I am worried that the summer iteneraries will be too expensive and that we will have to keep the spring itenerary so hoping we don’t have to release that one before she puts the other on hold. Or can she add the OBB to the summer booking when/if we decide to place a deposit (thereby releasing the spring cruise)?
Hope that all makes sense! Thank you:)

If you want to use your onboard booking perks on a new cruise, you'll have to cancel the cruise it's currently on. Now, I believe, that can happen at the same time.

You don’t have to cancel the spring cruise to put a hold on the new one. You’d only need to cancel spring when you were sure you wanted summer and wanted to use your OBB.

Very true. You can book a hold on the summer one without cancelling the spring one. But you wont necessarily get to use the OBB on that initial pricing that the TA got for you.

The problem is you cant just apply the OBB to the summer one that has been held.
What happens is your spring cruise with OBB has a reservation number that the OBB is actually tied to.
A summer cruise put on hold would generate a new reservation number of its own.
You would need to use spring cruise reservation number (with OBB tied to it) to make any new booking in order to benefit from the discount.

Its the actual reservation number that holds the discount so the spring one needs to be cancelled and that number used for the summer sailing. For example, if you asked TA to book without the OBB and you thought the price was good and then decided to use the OBB then the TA would have to cancel the spring and book the summer cruise with that OBB booking reservation number. The price of the summer cruise would then be the going rate AT THAT TIME. Not when your TA originally got you that quote and it may or may not have changed by then.

And that is exactly what I was afraid of. Didn't think both could be priced with the OBB at the same time. Thanks for the clear explanation!
