Finally got a quote for the June 28th Norwegian Fjords/ Iceland (everything above Deck 7 in a Cat 5A seems to be sold out)
Me and a 6 year old-

Can anyone, who has done this cruise in the past, tell me if these are normal opening day prices? My TA thought it would be much lower. I was willing to go down to a Cat 7 obstructed even...but the price for that is still ridiculous.

I have been on hold for an hour and fifteen minutes. For those that booked successfully, how long does it take???

I did it online. Can you do that? However, the website seems to be overloaded and isn't letting me modify my room/cat right now.

Thanks. Wow! They are A LOT lower than today's price!! I would be willing to do the guarantee verandah!!!
I was hoping that I could reserve today and then rebook on my Fantasy sailing with a discount..but at this price I won't even consider it. Is it typical for a lower price to be offered later on? I actually have some hope!!!!

EDIT--- Is a GT verandah room a navigator's verandah?

I was in hold 25 minutes earlier and had to hang up. Now I'm back on hold!
I have a placeholder so I need to call. In hindsight, I should have booked the placeholder with a dummy cruise before the new cruises were released so all I had to do was modify my cruise which could have been done online. Maybe next time!

It's hard to say. The cruise was earlier this year so that could be a reason. I just don't think they can sell all the rooms at these prices. When the holds expire you will see a lot more rooms become available. I booked the 7 day Baltic, but now I'm thinking holding out to see if the 10 day Baltic has discounts. We were able to get a discount on the Iceland cruise this year. I would never pay what they are currently asking for the 10 day Baltic so I lose nothing by waiting. I booked the Iceland cruise opening day, and when I saw it wasn't selling I cancelled and waited for the discounts. That's always an option too.

I called in at exactly 8am (6 my time) and was off the phone by 8:09 and booked using our placeholder from our November cruise. I booked:

August 28, 2017 - Wonder
7-night Alaska - 2a/2c (17/14)
Cat. 9A - $6467.72 ($1795.50/1795.50/1039.50/1039.50)$797.72 taxes/fees

We even got the same room we were in back in November on our Galveston sailing.

Thank you!!! I'll shelf it for now..but won't give up completely yet! I feel so much better than I did last night/this morning now that I've read your response!!!

Spent three hours and the phone with Costco, but we are booked for next summer. It's a lot more than I wanted to spend, but the kids are growing up fast. Here's what we booked:
June 10,2017 Fantasy
2A 2C (9 and 7)
Category 4E
$8300 with placeholder applied.

Whew- those kids better appreciate it!

Depending upon when you tried to modify it is, that is. I booked this morning, but after talking with DH, we decided we wanted to change rooms/decks. I have been trying to modify my reservation online for over an hour without any luck. The phone lines are just ringing busy now too:( I think I should be ok on waiting until later to day to modify it, since Western Caribbean 7 nights don't go too fast, I hope.
