** OPENING DAY PRICING 2015 Pt 2 April - August: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

DCL's prices just get more and more absurd. :sad2: Priced the 8/23/15 7nt Western on the Fantasy - 2A2C Ocenview - $5,750 Almost identical itinerary (excpet Castaway, of course) on RCCL's Independence of the Seas, leaving one day earlier, similar ocean view room - $2,600. While I can afford the DCL price tag, there's no way to justify paying it. :confused3

That's some difference.

It's exactly what we say too and I couldn't agree more with you - we can afford it but I cannot justify it when the difference allows me to take another vacay or goes a long way towards another one.

Booked the 2-night cruise to nowhere on the Wonder

Cat 4B - 1A 3K (11, 8, 8)

760/760/320/320/144.56 in taxes = 2304.56

No ins/trsfrs/no OBB

Priced a 4B for 2A, 3K (11, 8, 8) on the EBTA

3180/3180/780/780/780/345.68 = $9,045.68

Great price for a 15-day cruise but the airfare would cost the same or more for us and just can't justify it.

Fantasy 8/29/2015 (7 day eastern Caribbean) cat 5c 2 adults one child (4). No insurance /transfers. Including obb (10 percent off) and taxes $3707.

The increase in prices from opening yesterday to today are impressive, especially for the European itineraries.

As long as folks keep paying the prices, DCL will keep raising them...

I do think the "Disney Difference" is worth a premium over other lines. Maybe even a 25% premium...but not a 120% premium.

I AGREE! I'm willing to pay 10-20% over other lines, but these prices are way over the standard out there right now. And in most cases you can get a full balcony on these other lines for what Disney wants for an inside room or porthole! :(

Alaska, Wonder, 6/22/15, 7 nights, 1A, 1C 11B Total: $2618 w/OBB, no transfers, insurance, or gratuities. Booked 3/27 via TA as Silver CC

6/8/15 Alaska 2A/2K (14,11) 5C with OBB discount $6,635.28.

Actually less than I was expecting.

Just got my quotes (very fast, thank you Beth at DU!): came through at around 10am EST. I think is with OBB, i.e. moving a dummy date for both cabins.

June 29:
11 night Copenhagen – Norway – Iceland- Dover

9B party of 2 – 6213.98

10B party of 4 -8230.36

August 3: 7 night Dover – Barcelona Repo

9B party of 2 – 3413.60

10B party of 4 -5075.80

We're going ahead with the Dover repo - would love the other, but the budget has to survive to see another year! My DH's Granny was born in Gibraltar - that's how I'm selling him on this !

I am so excited, just booked ALaska 2015! Looking at prices yesterday made me nervous but by switching a july date to a june date it was affordable for us. We are booked on june 15th. I dont know prices yet. Just told my ta to book it and email with details later. This is going to be our ten year vow renewal and my bday week. I cannot wait!!! :thumbsup2

6/8/15 Alaska 2A/2K (14,11) 5C with OBB discount $6,635.28.

Actually less than I was expecting.

We just booked the exact same cruise (dates, category, kids, OBB discount) for $6908.28

Costco travel told me that the price didn't include gratuities. But the price I saw for the same trip online through DCL directly would have been exactly the difference of tips for 4 people: $336. Maybe just a coincidence and I did my math wrong, or maybe she didn't know what she was talking about which I have found is sometimes the case with Costco Travel agents.

Took 2 hours and 3 minutes total between holding to talk to an agent originally and then the agent holding for DCL.

The good news is we booked our dummy cruise the day they changed the 18 month rebook policy and they still honored it for this one which is technically 19 months later.

Just booked Panama Canal 5/15 sailing on Wonder.

Cat 11B 2A/1C Total $3750.84 (no transfers/no ins/inc OBB)

I was looking into RCCL's new Quantam of the Seas. This ship really looks amazing with impressive activities and restaurants, and a new dining "system" (including a 24-hr station at the buffet - with all day breakfast!!!), and going out of NJ full-time, would be real convenient for us (plus save us the airfare). Unfortunately, they haven't released the schedule for that ship yet beyond April 2015. Curious to see where they will compare to DCL with this ship.
